thanks, although I sold my STi back in Feb, bought the Z a month later. I can only imagine a 600h is insane, fine automobile.

a few reasons.....I'm basically very happy with the car the way it is. it's hard to explain until you go for a ride. I want reliability and driveability, and a warranty. the cam would have given me another 50rwhp, and cost a total of $5500 for everything (cam/springs/retainers, rocker arms, headers/xpipe, labor, tune). 50rwhp wasnt worth $5500 and the loss of my warranty, at least not yet.

besides, my bone stock Z has beat an assortment of cars...600whp S2000 running a GT40R + nitrous, a 570rwhp Shelby GT500, a 520rwhp LS3 sc vette, 500whp STi, 550whp GTO, 2008 500hp M5, etc.

I will end up doing something to my z, just not yet. I can get a vortech blower kit for $5195 shipped, blower cam for $695, and it will make 650whp/590tq on the stock engine, not sure how long it will last though.

how much is the z06 shortblock, have you ever thought of doing a turbo setup instead?

that would be sick, and probably not as much as the supercharger itself...but the custom stuff will be mucho $$$$....

you are bone stock and you beat all those cars....that is very impressive!

not sure how much a new ls7 shortblock costs, but i sure hope to never find out. for once in my life, I'm (temporarily) content with my car. I could do a turbo setup, which would be awesome, but I'm not gonna push the envelope right now.

I will be out playing with my z this weekend, and I'll have my video camera....I'll post up some kilz.

time to update my thread....I recently installed some american racing headers with hi flow x pipe, ported intake manifold, ported throttle body and a retune. oddly enough, I only gained 9peak tq and 0peak whp. however, I gained 14whp/12tq from 4k-6k, which made a big diff in the mid range. she feels like a f'iing animal!!!

I bought another cam, and will be installing asap. the cam with my current mods will add 100whp over stock, which should be good for mid 10's in the low/mid 130's. from a roll, she will be down right insane.

I beat on my friends shelby gt500 last weekend, his car makes 575/567, pulled him by 2+ cars from 40-140. those shelby's are actually very impressive cars, regardless of how much they weight. before i raced my friends shelby, he beat another one of our friends whippled cobra that made 588whp. I also raced one of my good friends 08 LS3 with a paxton novi, making 520whp...and we ran door to door from 40-145.

anyway, I'm gonna try to make it out to the track this fri or next, definitely before the cam is installed. I'll be sure to update you guys.

Dude, 100whp out of a cam is insane. You must have got a BIG one. take some idle video cause I wanna hear that v8 rumble. *sigh* I miss the good ole' days.
