LS3's main advantage is the L92 cylinder heads. If you replace the heads while installing the turbo/supercharger, you could match it.

I gotta tell you, though, you could easily do 500whp without an FI with head/cam/header, and say GOODBYE to heat soak

I'm not in a big hurry, gonna take my time to decide. I realize this may disappoint some of you guys, but i will always be a scooby guy at heart. I'm keeping my 08 spec b as my daily driver, i have no plans of vanishing from the community.

i refuse to open the motor, haha! I want to keep it simple, also, according to ECS they have had zero problems with heat soak, but they are using a novi 1500 blower and not the procharger. I want 600whp, 500whp just isnt enough. I've been reading that 7psi, headers, x pipe, cb, and a tune will get me there. if not I'll be very close.

also, i'm in love with the new jetstream metallic blue, it's dead sexy, haha!

I got Le-Mans Blue; it looks awesome BTW, that 500 whp I told you is with UNTOUCHED ECU! I think it is very impressive..

Cylinder heads are easily accessible on LS engines. I recommend you check out GM Performance Parts Catalog; GM by far produces the highest quality parts.

Good luck!

^ that was a good write-up. i love sti's, but i am ready to enjoy something else. life is too short to love one car. looks like i am going to get an 08 ls3, z51, jetstream metallic blue. I really want the 3lt package but cant find one unless I special order it, which will take 2 months.

.

Not so true burn. My company was the first to do a centrifugal blower on an ls3, same boost level they make about 20whp more than an ls2, torque was about 20 more as well... either car can achieve closer to 600whp with some more boost and some supporting mods. So dont let that get in your way. If you are going non z06 make sure you get the z51 package, its worth it. Also side by side an 07 Z51 vs and 08 Z51 doesnt feel that much different on the street. Do headers and rod bolts with a ATI Procharger D-1SC setup around 10lbs and your 600whp is about there, but you are on the limits of pumpgas, we have meth cars leaning more towards 640whp but thats a stretch on the stock motor. (on a side note we did the first production Z06 kit) 600whp @ 4.5psi on stock exhaust 10.60's on pump gas... either choice these cars drive 100% like stock and its not uncommon to see up to 30mpg on the highway with the ATI combination.

^Cool man. Interesting info. It doesn't look like it takes much to make the Vette's absolutely nuts.

Burnin, keep us updated... obviously.

Just out of curiosity, what's the all-in ballpark cost of this power package (no injection)?
