anyway, I'm going to take my time and find the right car. right now, it's either an 08 sti or an 08 LS3 vette. i realize most people are going to say "08 STi ftw" for obvious reasons, I just know that I'll end up dumping 20k into the car before I'm happy with it. I dont want to go down that road right now, which is why a stock C6 LS3 + procharger = tons of easy whoop azz...on pump gas. feel free to share your opinions!

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 Trader Rating: (3) | yeah but it's 100k+ and not out yet. I'm not going that deep into a car, besides I can buy an 08 LS3 for 49k, and spend about 8-10k on a procharger or aps tt and make low/mid 600's, which is more than the ZR1 (625 flywheel). granted the ZR1 will have a lot more potential, but it should for twice the price. I'd like to stay 50k and below if it is a brand new car. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (5) | ZR1 will also be sold way over MSRP for the first year too. Not cool. I think you have the right idea on the LS3 w/procharger. Best bang for buck right now in the world of vettes (if I could have a nice DD like a Spec B I would go this route). You like Cobras? Making power on those is a joke it's so easy... |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | you can always mod a corvette...can you say you were one of the first private owners to have a big turbo on a 08... corvettes are awesome for what they do...and they can't do what a STi can do 90% of the time(carry 5 people, awd, very safe) no matter what, your car is awesome and i've been following it for a while, sad to see it go(soon2bblackongold from nasioc) and face it..who wants to race a loud corvette...nobody unless you have a gt35r sti....so you will just end up driving a lot less aggressive because your car sticks out like a sore thumb that it's fast..the sti could be a slow japanese econo box..but stuff in a gt35r and a dogbox and it will eat your corvette for lunch(on race gas nexT TIME! ) Last edited by MorePSiTehBett4; 01-19-2008 at 09:01 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (4) | i'm seriously thinking about one of these for my next sports car. i think i'm done with the modding route after seeing all the cars i could've had with the money i spent modding my sti. Katech Street Attack Corvette Z06 Road Test - Winding Road - March 2007 :: Winding Road by the time you're done modding your next car, you could've had a katech. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 Trader Rating: (3) | I'm going to drive a corvette to see how i feel. I also spoke with the owner of the local subaru dealer, good friend of mine, I havent ruled out an 08 sti. I know that I will dump 20k into an 08 sti to get it to where i want it to be (without even touching the motor), where as I would only dump 10-12k into the corvette to get it to where i want it to be. the corvette would be nasty, but I would only be able to have 1 passenger, and I would want to take road trips with my wife and little girl. I am completely undecided, not in a big hurry to find a replacement. I'm going ot enjoy my sti for the next few days until the new owner takes delivery. here's what I would do to an 8 STi: POWA: UR 30r kit Cobb ap (stock ecu ftmfw!!!!) fmic tbe injectors/fp act 6 puck clutch Suspension: KW V3's Sway bars/endlinks Interior: pioneer avic z2 component f/r jl 500/5 jl 10w6v2 5-6 defi gauges Other: 18x9s with 265/35-18's exterior upgrades (headlights/tailights/tinted windows/debadged) |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (4) | Why not just get a R36 Skyline? Only downside is the lack of a true manual tranny... and maybe the price. Other than that my vote goes to the 08 STi. Sorry to see your car go, I've been following it's progress since you started this journal. Someone's getting one hell of a car at an amazing price. |

I love my sti, just want something else. I want something a little more simple, not as extreme. the new 08 sti is very appealing, just not sure if i want another sti right now. a new 08 vette + procharger = 600whp on 93 octane....but i cant bring the family. as of right now, my wife and little girl dont ride in my sti anyway. I am completely undecided right now. I added up all of the stuff i would want on an sti and it totaled over 50k including the price of the car. a new vette with headers, intake and tune are making 420whp+ and do 190mph+ bone stock. agan, everything has its pros/cons.

Yeah, the new GT-R. I read somewhere it was going to be around $70k, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I've got a wife and two kids so I need a safe car that will fit 2 car seats, but It looks like you already have a Spec B. Whatever you decide to get I'm sure It'll be badass. | S204 Racer | Everything is a compromise, buddy, but if AWD is not a necessity, it opens up the field considerably. There are a lot of sweet RWD cars out there. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
