Cool Re: 2004 Subaru STi

Just got back from getting the windows tinted; went with 35% all around and it looks wonderful. The guys at Umbra Window Tinting do a great job; I'd recommend them to anyone close to Chicago. I'll post some better pictures in the sun when I get some more time.

If you are in a rush, next best price would be ebay $36shipped

but if you prefer to purcahse from a vendor
RallySportDirect
$34+shipping, should be around $40 total

Default HKS Turbo Timer Type 1 Installation

Vehicle Install
2004 Subaru STI

Install Time
4 hours (Newbie here, they claim 1-2 hours in the instructions)

Installation Location

Parts
HKS Turbo Timer Type 1 (Ordered from VividRacing.com in Black)

HKS Turbo Timer Harness (Ordered from VividRacing.com)

The HKS Turbo Timer Type-1 features an auto mode that adjusts engine idle time according to the most recent driving pattern, multiple preset times, audible alarms and a volt meter PLUS several monitoring and measurement tools. Vehicle speed and RPM can be displayed on the Type-1's LCD monitor and a speed warning level can be set. A 2 stage RPM warning can also be set and used as a shift light. When a warning level is reached the Type-1's LCD monitor will switch from blue to red and an audible beep will sound. The HKS Turbo Timer Type-1 also features various measurement tools including 1/4 mile timer, 0-60 timer and a stopwatch function that can be used for lap timing. The back-lit digital LCD display flashes between orange and red during the countdown The Type-1 is ultra compact, less then a 1/4 din in size.

Available in black (MPH/SAE) and silver (KPH/Metric).

Hardest Portion of the Install

Finding the correct ECU wiring diagram for a 2004 STI to locate the RPM and MPH (Speed) wires. We ended up using a combination of AllData, Mitchell on Demand (I believe) and the 2004 Diagram below found on the web.

http://www.northursalia.com/modifica...04_STi_ECU.pdf

Together we were able to tell the connector location (#) and where pin locations were.
