IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Decided to start a journal just to show my car a little more. Picked it up in September 2006, used with 33K on the odometer. Here are some shots from when I first got it. Back when it used to be stock.... This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | I finished my latest project last week and here are the results: I got sick of looking at the ugly front license plate mount so I picked up an Autospeed trim piece. This is how it comes. Plain brushed aluminum. ![]() Well I wanted it to match the car and stand out from what everyone else has. So I ordered WRB spray paint from www.paintscratch.com. (Thanks to Klaymon for the website!!). The paint is an exact match. So I got to painting and here is the first step: I liked how it looked at that point but I went a little further. I found model paint used for model cars and such, and it was as close to the STi pink as I could find. This is the result: So after a little bit of wet sanding and clear coat this is how it turned out: And I painted the torx screws to match as well: Last edited by V8Huntr; 09-11-2007 at 05:40 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | And here is the result: These crappy pictures don't do it justice. The paint is 99% as close to the color, and out of a spray paint can. It looks a lot better in person. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | Ok so I picked up a set of Seibon Carbon Fiber eyelids from EastSTi. They were in ok shape and faded, and that was perfect for me! So I got to work. Here is what they looked like: This is what they looked like installed on EastSTi's car: ![]() ![]() And after prep, paint, and finishing here is how it turned out: |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2006 Trader Rating: (3) | Very nice and original. One thing that gets to me though. You have no front plate then you do then you don't and then you have a pillar but then pillarless but then pillared again. lol, is there a final pic of the car? |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | The top 2 pics are East STi's car not mine. Notice the Jersey plate and pillarless grill. Mine are the lower two |

| S204 Racer | Looks good man, I like the eyelids. And keep the pink paint you used for the front plate, I did mine and have to touch it up all the time. Nice work though. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | I decided to get a little inventive this weekend. I was sick of my iPod rattling around in my din pocket, so I fabbed up a mount into the ashtray. I don't smoke and no one else is allowed to smoke in my car, so the ashtray was pretty much useless. (I'm using a nano, I don't know what other sizes this would work with) I started out with a desktop dock, some JB Weld to hold everything in place, and a dremel to trim some of the plastic on the ashtray, then painted it all black! Yea the back looks like crap, but you can't see it when it's installed anyway. And you can't even tell it's in there: I need to clean it up a little, but you get the idea. It's connected to the head unit via a headphone to RCA cable. |
