Still thinking about tires, it's between Dunlop Z1 Starspecs of Advan Neovas and I'm leaning towards the cheaper one since there would be less guilt after some fun.

What is the size on the Volks?

Where and how much did you get them for?

Volks are 17x9 and fits without a spacer. I paid an arm, a leg and some special favors lol.

Still looking at tires. Narrowed it down to Advan Neovas or Dunlop Z1 Star Spec.

I was heading to an appointment today and had to grab gas in a hurry. I can't really see the low gas light since my boost gauge is in the way

So I realized I've gone 250+miles and took a peek, and indeed the gas light was on. I take a turn onto the street of Shell gas station and the car felt sluggish. I park it and realized it was a noobie parking job, maybe the gun wouldn't reach. Tries to crank the car and it dies, did it few mores and nothing. It felt like my maps were wiped clean so I load them on the AP, and still nothing. As the big clumsy bum as I am, I realized maybe I ran out of gas at the pump. This is the first time I've done it in any car. So filled up and the car took 15.23 gallons, so ya, running low was an understatement. So $62 latter @$4.099/gallon, I was ready to go.

Lesson learned, always look OVER the boost gauge to check gas level.

P.S. new exhaust is on and it is making me speed quite a bit due to the lack of noise. New exhaust is Turboxs 4" downpipe, 3" tubroxs cat-back adapter pipe, Maddad 3.0"-->2.5" midpipe with flex and STi axle back. Honestly, the Madad piece wasn't fitting 100% so it needed a extended kartboy hanger to fit and the rest were standard length. Thinking about a manual cut-out to avoid electronic cutout motor failures.

Default Recaros

Evo Recaros are in, I heard it was the new thing to do

But seriously, these are one of the BEST mod you can do for a better feeling of the car. To me peripheral and driver input items are extremely important and this is better than the TiC's sueprshifter set, which replaces the all the bushings related to the shifter, linkage etc, better than the thicker wheel from the 05. Somehow you actually sit in the seat instead of on or on top of the seat like the OEM unit, so far I love it, perhaps a more detailed review in due time.

Surprisingly, it was more difficult to take pictures of the seats after they are installed, am I the smart one here are some quick shots:

Last but not least, big thanks goes to member Peleg for his help. Follow his advice, solder about 1 inch of extra wires onto the 3.3ohm resistor so you can easily into the sensor, my advice is shrink wrap all exposed areas and use single strand wires. I used copper wires that are braided together with smaller diameter, simply solder the ends and you should be good to go. Also use the Folox detergent recommended by Peleg, they work pretty well on the Recaros. Enjoy and highly recommend this mod.

your write-up with pictures is very helpful, I need to persuade you to make me a center gauge pod that holds the radar display

Update

My exhaust had a much needed update. The 3" turboback was dumped in favor of my own master work spec components consists of
Turboxs 4" turboaback-->Turboxs 3" cat-back adapter plate-->Maddad 3.0-2.5" intermediate pipe-->STi axle back
I am still debating between a manual cutout or a electric version to be installed onto the cat-back adapter pipe, leaning towards the manual version due to their durability. I loved how it sounds now, but top end has been restricted quite a bit, also it is harder to build boost due to increase back pressure I presume. It is few magnitudes quieter but the unforeseen side effect is that everybody wants to race a stock looking STi. So when the environment permits, I put them to their place without hesitation

Next up on the agenda is suspension work. I have acquired a set of Ohlins fixed perch struts along with Swift R-Spec springs plus a set of rear group-N top hats. Still waiting on the PDE camber plates to arrive, it seems PDE-USA seems to work a bit slow, will update later with full suspension package.
