IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | 4/29/08: Added a few items to the Timeline. Still waiting on Transmission Mount parts to finish my bushing install. Stupid torque wrench. I hope to get some more pics up soon, I have been saying that FOREVER and it just keeps slipping my mind. I', up in the air over installing the subframe lockout bolts. Some say no problem, but others have said that it is not a good idea to leave them in. Since it is simple enough, I may put them in, see how it feels and base my decision on that. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | 5/5/08: Thoughts on TiC Sexy Rear End and KB Tranny Mount Bushings I installed both of these mods over the last couple of weeks, minus the subframe lockout bolts. First was the Sexy Rear End. Noticeable change over stock. Shifts felt smoother and firm. Less driveline "thunk" during faster shifts. A very slight increase in NVH (these are the comfort bushings) but to be honest, I like the sound. The Tranny Mount bushings were a nightmare simply because my torque wrench failed. Once the parts were in and the bushings were installed, there was a noticeable improvement in shifter feel and a very slight increase in NVH. Overall, excellent mods and I can't wait to see the change when the lockout bolts are installed. The overall driveline feels more stable and there is a HUGE reduction in shift-slop. Gates are exactly where you expect them to be, even if cornering. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | 5/7/08: Overspray issue Part II <vent> Several parts repainted a few months ago. Got it back, swirled to hell and overspray everywhere. Brought it back, swirled more, some of the overspray gone. Detailed Sunday, more overspray, like half the rear bumper and most of the lower front bumper. Brought it back today to get addressed. So frustrating. </vent> |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | 6/9/08: Whiteline Subframe Lockout Bolts Did my monthly bolt-check under the car last night and I came across my Lockout bolts that had never been installed. Figured I needed something to do and that sounded like a good, brainless project. The install was easy, BUT I had to use a little creativity to line up the subframe and the bolt hole. Using an Irwin clamp, flipped to spread, I pushed the frame back about 1/4" to get the bolt in. Worked like a champ since prying wasn't working for me. FWIW, for aligning things, I think those Irwin clamps are a great idea. I digress. Bolts in and torqued to 66 ft/#'s with my SNAP-ON, NOT Craftsman torque wrench... Subframe bolts torqued too. Drove to work this AM, but I really didn't notice any difference at all. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
