I'm not sure about exhaust yet...so many options... I'll have to listen to what a few exhausts sound like before I do anything.

nice-rice: Thanks, I can't wait to get a more unique look to it! Following in others' footsteps is okay, but...

Just the brace helped? Hmm... That is something I found very strange about this car. The pedal feel is weak for braking and that doesn't make much sense. I'll see how it feels after my upcoming brake mods.

HPDE1 October 13-14 @ Summit Point

Thoughts:
AMAZING experience. I am hooked. I want to go again...NOW. It's been a couple of days and I am still on "high" from the weekend. I noticed a lot fo things that I need to work on. Things I thought I would have problems with, I didn't and that raised issues with some other's that I do need to work on. Learning the vehicle and the driver ability is where it started with me. I was so unsure of how the STi would work on a track and as a DD, I was overly anxious and cautious. The latter is okay, but the former was a problem since it consitently messed up my lines. Once I relaxed a little bit, I could focus a LOT better on why I was there.

Apexing, vision, braking, acceleration, steering were to me, are the links between the driver and the track. I needed practice with all of them, but by the end of the weekend, I was fighting everything less and had found a groove. I started to trust myself (the driver) and the car's capabilities.

The track and the "rules" were also totally new to me. I learned what I could from the NASA guide before I went, but it pales in comparison to experience. By the end of the weekend, as I started to feel more comfortable, everything STARTED to fall into place. I was truly impressed with how well the guys did who were there for their first time.

Mod the driver, then the car, although there are a few things I will probably be doing prior to my next event. I loved it. Another thanks to spaze (my install expert) and mav1c from nasioc (my instructor) and everyone here who has helped me learn tons about the STi.

Tools and stuff to bring:
I brought all of my metric tools. Torque wrench and socket (I checked before each session.) Glass cleaner. Cable ties and racers tape. Extra fluids for the car and for the driver! Tire pressure gauge (still have not nailed this concept down, but was close by the end of Sunday.) Chairs. A good camera cause a point and shoot digital just wasn't cutting it. Some extra cash cause fuel at the track is EXPENSIVE! Most important for me was an open mind.

I can't wait to go back!!!

god i can't wait... going to have to wait until next year due to funds/weather though... how did u like the SS lines? I also am kind of dissapointed with the STis brakes. My old *ss, falling apart, 88 integra with SS lines and ATE blue has better brake feel than my STi, lol.

It is the most fun I have had, probably ever! Totally insane time. You will love it!

It is tough to differentiate between the lines/pads/fluid. The brakes felt better as they got warm, great pedal feel, no fade that I noticed at all. For about $100 it is worth doing the lines. I went all out and did everything at once, definite improvement.

Santa was good to me in 2007!

Got the V-Limited lip. Easy install, about half an hour. Missing a few screws, had to Macgyver some new screws and clips in there. I think it needs another couple up front, there is a little gap I don't like.

Floormats FTW! I got the black ones from subarugenuineparts.com. 5 minutes to install and they look/perform perfectly! FWIW, my old d-side mat was tearing at the mounting hole.

Oh yeah, and a Dremel 400 kit!!! Can't wait to tear into that thing!

Hope others had a great Holiday!

It worked OK for a couple of hundred miles, then it was back to the same-old BS again. I got the reflash and had the AP within a day or so. You might have better luck, as I have heard of other's having a longer run, but the AP (or some type of EM) for a stock 07 is still the way to go.

Back on summer tires (070's)! I can't speak highly enough of P21s, that stuff is unreal. Wheels sat all winter cleaned up in no time.
