IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 Trader Rating: (0) | A quick question. Is there a way to pop the trunk using just the key-fob? I read the 04s have it (over at media.subaru.com) but when I went to the dealership they said it could only be opened manually with either the trunk release or inserting the key. It would be handy to be able to pop the trunk with the key-fob. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | As far as I know, the keyfob only unlocks/locks the doors, arms/disarms the alarm (if equipped) and turns on/off the beeping noise for the mentioned items. I'm pretty sure it doesn't pop the trunk. It'd be a nice feature, but I doubt the trunk would actually open and lift up with the huge wing on the back. ![]() -Matt |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Hi Kevin, All STis for MY2005 come standard with an audio system, which consists of the in-dash cd changer and 6 speakers. Two in the rear doors and 4 in the fronts. Total rated output is 140W. In the standard feature list, the speakers are described as "upgraded." I took my door shot with a flash to show the pattern of the tweeter grille design, but it's exactly the same as the one the other Matt took FWIW. Hope this helps! -Matt |

| Authorized Vendor | Matt, doesn't it look like the door panel on the bottom has a different grille? Compare it to the speaker grille in the bottom of hte door. The one in the bottom looks more like your's in the door, but I think there is a difference unless I am crazy. |

It's good to know that someone (that would be you Matt) that has insider info about cars chose the STi. I'm 400 miles into the break-in period and almost took a vacatoin day today to go driving. Congrats and be careful. |

Heh, yeah they do look a bit different. This is a perfect example of how direct sunlight versus a controlled light source can completely change the appearance and perception of something. ![]() -Matt

It's definitely a tormenting job though, sometimes, knowing what changes will happen for a particular vehicle and not being able to share anything. I stick by my choice though - I love this car! -Matt
