Thumbs up IStoSTI's STI -- New exhaust post 744

Ok, so I took the plunge and purchased my 2006 Obsedian Black Pearl Subaru
WRX STI on August 31, 2006. Factory Options included: Boost Gauge, STI
Short Throw Shifter, Rubber Floor Mats, Auto-Dimming/Compass Rear View
Mirror
Here's a pic of it in all it's stock glory the night i got it

And here's a pic a couple weeks later

The first real mod was supposed to be my fender braces (which still aren't installed),
but ended up being a Perrin Catless Downpipe and an HKS Carbon-Ti Exhaust.
I loved the power gain and the sound...but soon enough I got the urge to mod
some more, so I purchased a K&N Typhoon Intake and a Greddy Type-RS BOV.
Both were decent mods...I enjoy shooting flames...but it just didn't feel right.
I then decided to buy some rims for the spring, and in looking around, I found
a group buy deal that I just couldn't pass on and purchased my
18x8.5 +45 Rays 57F in Time Attack.

I waited to put them on the car until it was finally done snowing, and I knew that
before I put them on, I was going to have to drop the car. I was debating for
a while over going with springs or coilovers, and decided to not make the
same mistake I made with the IS300 and just go with the coilovers in the
first place. So, I placed an order with Ray at Turbo Teck Tuning (he gave me
an AWESOME deal) for a set of Tein Flex coilovers. When I stopped by to pay
Ray for the coilovers, he took me for a ride in his custom tuned STI. I was
amazed at how much more torque and high end power he was getting out
of the car, so I asked if he would tune my car. He agreed, and now the car
is Stage 2, running at 18psi and it feels so much better. Much smoother
acceleration and power. And, of course, it still shoots uber loud flames
Here are a couple recent pics with the car dropped on the new rims. I should
have some more pics shortly. Stay tuned for them and future mods

Ok So I did the Type RA-R grill mod...

I just really like this shot of the exhaust...

I'll place some more updates here as I go along, but here is the most recent update...

A couple more pics showing the V-Limited and such...

OK so the headunit went in on Sunday night (7/15/07) and it's awesome!
Very happy with my decision to go with the Pioneer AVIC-D3. It has the iPod
adapter in the center console, GPS Navigation, DVD player, MP3 player, CD
player and a myriad of other awesome little features. Plus I can make it red
to match the gauge cluster and the Defi's.

Here's a crappy camera phone pic, but you can get the idea of the painted
dash and the new headunit!

7/22/07 Painted headlights are in, and so is my Perrin Signature Series FMIC!

nice work! do you want to shoot flames though? if not, you could put the stock bpv back on and it would stop it from shooting flames and make the car run better between shifts.

yeah I was considering that or recirc-ing the greddy but I'm about to have it
tuned again and if it still running too rich in between shifts I'm gonna do something
about it.

Loving the rims and KDW2s! You would have really bumped up the handling if you went with 245/255s though.

It looks great with the black wheels. I'm glad you didn't go with a polished lip like everyone else does (I hate that look).

yeah next summer it's getting 255's. I wanted to go with the stretched tire - big
rim look at first.
