Oh, I didn't know you want to track your car. You did mention that you wanted RE-01r's and I was assuming you are doing it for the streets. I guess you are limited to size of the wheels you are running.

From my experience, most hardcore people that track their STI's run bigger then 235's and you know bigger tires will bring you higher cornering speed.

If you are looking for 245/40/18 in 100 thread rating and below(R-compound), there are few that are very good.

BFG R1's are the best for road racing as far as I'm concern as they will take heat much better then the other brands. They come in 245/40/18's. Grassroot Motorsport Magazine did a comparison between the available R-compounds and this tire came out on top of the list.

Toyo RA-1 is another brand that comes in that size and it is also by far one of the most widely used R-compounds out there on the circuit right now. I have used this tire for TT and track days and they are very good for the price in regards to not getting greasy as they get hot

Hoosier R6 and A6 comes in those size and they are good tires. But, personally, I much rather preferred the ones above for TT, Time Attack, track days, etc...

Kumho V710's comes in 245/35/18 which will have a slightly shorter sidewall for better turn-in responses. You can use this tire for road racing, but this tire was build for auto-x and they heat up very fast. The down side for this tire it will not hold up heat as they will get greasy if too hot and you don't want that.

Hankook Ventus Z214 also comes in 245/35/18's and they are good too for the price. I have no experience on them before, so I can't say anything about them. I was also looking into trying them and I think they have a contingency program for people that run their tires on events. Call them up and find out.

So, there are lots of good R-compound tire choice out there for that size. Of course, 275/35/18 is one of the most popular size out there and almost every tire maker have that size in R-compound.

that's gonna be so sick once you get it aligned ! i'll be doin the same thing when my works get here, test fit and stare for a long time

will be a little bit after they get here before i get tires to. reminds me i should roll my fenders

Wheels look siiick, I can't wait to see when you get the tires mounted and the fender/camber settings complete. GTR face Advans are something I definately want on my car some day in the future, right after a hub swap.
