I can't lol ask Dimitri he can explain, I won't be able to clear the fender or the strut I
don't think with a 255 or wider because they wil bulge on a 9" rim

You shouldn't have too much trouble pulling the rear fenders to fit 265 or 275 tires but I'm running 700lbs springs so that would help on body rolls. The Cobb white Time Attack car uses 265/35/18 and the fenders were pulled.

You can always go with 9.5" wheels to go with the 265 or 275 tires! You'll have much more cornering speed with this size tires then with 235 of course. Of course you know that 235 are pretty skinny on STI's.

unfortunatly, the RS doesn't come in an 18x9.5 or I would have gone that route.
The reason I'm not going to be able to run a wider tire is more because of
how it will fit on the wheel. A 265 would definitely bulge on a 9 inch wheel,
so I'm not sure how much extra traction that would actually give me anyway.
I like the feel of the stretched tire in turns, provides stiffer and quicker
steering response.

I'd ideally like to do a 245 but finding a good 245/40 tire isn't easy. The R-
compound tires, as I'm sure you know, are a little bit bigger than a normal
235 anyway, (they are basically like a normal 245) so they shouldn't look that
bad. The 04-05 Zero/Sports STi was actually running the 18x9 +29 Advan
RS with a 235/40 A048.
