Nope.
I picked up the STi specific base (bracket) and what was said to be a specific slider at the annual Sparco sale across town.
As it turns out though, I actually like not having a slider. It means that I am the only one who can drive the car, and it takes out some of the "slack" and "looseness" caused by the extra piece. Eventually I may put one in, but it is not on the top of my to-do list at this point.

Default Re: AMG Destroyer: Get the car back tomorrow...

Well, the last four weeks have been a nightmare, to say the least.

Four weeks ago, yesterday I was involved in a "minor" accident that luckily involved no one else. I was on my way to the pool at around 5 AM on Saturday morning on a newly developed backroad that I take every day to avoid stoplights. As I was coming around a turn at a moderate speed, a massive deer jumped in front of my car. Unfortunately, I was right in the middle of the turn, panicked, induced oversteer, and slid into the curb on the opposite side of the road.

I did not hit the deer, but there was quite a bit of suspension damage, but luckily no body damage, minus the passenger side sideskirt. And I needed two new wheels.

It took two and a half hours for the damn tow truck to arrive at the scene, but the guy turned out to be really nice and actually called for another driver to help him get it on the flatbed, so as not to cause any body damage.

I had it towed to the local dealership, where the dumbasses speculated that it would be a "minor" fix and they see it all the time ('ya right...).

So the first estimation of time necessary to fix it was one week. But you know how that goes...one week turns into two, which turns into three. (All the while continually being lied to about the status of the parts being installed). Then week four came around. Turns out that the frame was bent by a minuscule 3mm. Off to the bodyshop the car went... They said it would be fixed within the next two days and back in my hands.

Turns out that four days later they finally found that bending the frame back caused the paint to buckle and the rear quarter panel needed to be repainted. They proceeded to ask me if I wanted the dent removed from the same panel... There was no dent when I gave them the car, trusting that they would take care of it and keep it in the pristine condition in which I left it. This tops off the situation IMO, and is 110% uncalled for. If they fvck up, I expect them to respectfully admit it and ask for my approval on what they are going to do about it.

And here I am, waiting for the paint to cure, STi-less after four weeks. They promised me that the car would be in my hands tomorrow, but who knows. All I know is that I am going in there tomorrow, car or not, and raising hell.

A call to SOA is also in store...

Sorry to rant and give such a long explanation, but this is what was going on over the past four long weeks. I haven't been the same without my car...

BUT I do have quite a few mods waiting to be installed right away, which is exciting.

I'll be posting with the results for the following mods over the next few weeks:
TiC super shift set
TiC unabomber's sexy rearend
Rallyarmor mudflaps
Ipod integration kit
New wideangle rearview mirror
Apex'i turbo timer w/hks harness (got it for free, so wth )

Bummer. I go a little nuts if I can't drive the STI for more than 2 days.

If they haven't already, you should get it aligned when you get it back. And if you're installing the WL subframe lock bolts you may need an alignment from just that. It depends if the subframe shifts or not when you tighten them up. But keep this in mind and don't be surprised if your alignment feels screwed up after you install them. Wouldn't want those RE010R's to wear unevenly.

yea, I'm 100% sure the car would've been totaled and I would have been injured. It was a HUGE deer.

I dont have any pics of when it was messed up...don't want any memories lol. But first thing I'm doing is jacking it up and doing a full inspection to make sure the stealership didn't cut any corners.

Yea, the body shop is aligning it, but I'm going to get RCE yellows fairly soon, so I will get a performance alignment after I get those on.

Welll.... you know how things at the dealership go. Four weeks and three days later, I still don't have the car. Supposedly the body shop found another dent on the OTHER side of the car that was not there before I left the car with them. The service manager even went around the car and marked down where there were scratches and such.

This is just getting out of hand. After I called them, they asked if I wanted the dent fixed?! What kind of place is this... Completely sickening to me.
But at least I was promised that the car would be back on Wednesday
I am going to for sure file a formal complaint with SOA, and write a complete review of the dealership I've been dealing with as well as the body shop on every suby forum...

On another note, I'm thinking of getting Kartboy short exhaust hangers. My exhaust seems to sit sort of low, and I want it to be more tucked into the bumper. What do you guys think of this idea? Would it look good with my exhaust?
Here's a pic of how it sits now for reference...

It is sitting a bit low. Try replacing the 2 rear most hangers with the shorter KB ones. That will give you more of an angle. I think.
