Cool, would you mind telling me which one you used? There are so many it's hard to sift through...and for everything else I'll probably end up just ordering the porting kit from Summit. It has 4 cross buffs, as well as a bunch of cartridge rolls, flapper wheels, grinding stones, and a couple different mandrels, all for $50 or so. Takes the hassle out of picking everything individually so I'd just have to order the carbide bit separately. Nice work by the way

Here are a few shots of the work I did from underneath my car.

Before

after

The other side afterwards
I didnt use a burr on the ports only cartridge rolls, flapper wheels and crossbuffs. It was a messy process..

Thanks, yea I was considering that kit but decided to just get my own cartridge rolls instead. U can get bags of them pretty cheap through Mcmaster along with the long arbors that allow u to get deep, I believe I used a 6" arbor for there 1/8" arbored sanding rolls and a 3" for the larger 3/16" arbored rolls. The burr I used was a 1/2" x 1" double cut carbide burr with a 1/4" shank and a rounded head, I cant link u to the page on there site but if u just type in burrs its very easy to find. If anyone wants to know what else I used specifically let me know.

Thanks for the info. Wow, that's pretty ballsy porting the exhaust ports on the head. Did you notice a big improvement?

Sure np, yea I was debating over if I should do it or not and I went for it. I cant say I notice a big improvement but I can honestly say that my car feels great under wot. I still need to play around with my ecu map some and then I might get it on the dyno to see where I'm at. My logs look good and my EGT's are at about 1550f by redline in forth gear. I'm hitting 4.80 volts on my maf running a APS 70mm, I dont know what kind of power that shows that I'm making though.

Not all of them but I stuffed a few wet shop rags up in the ports and after finishing I sprayed a good amount of brake clean up in the ports then blew them out with a blow gun and pulled the rags out. My car has been running great since then and its been about 3 weeks since the work was done.

I have seen this done before on intake ports. You shove a paper towl down inside the runner then put vasoilne around the paper towl and runner. all your shavings will be caught in the vasoilne when you pull the rag through.

The remflex gaskets have worked great for me, after I finished the heads I cleaned the old gasket material off and installed new ones.

My current project is the rebuilding of my Brembos and painting, I'll post some pics tomorrow. VHT makes a caliper paint that looks exactly like WRB so I'm gonna give it a shot.

Default Re: (My 2005) 1/24 - Brembo Refinishing Progress Pics (VHT Bright Blue)

Well I finally got around to working on my calipers, I think they're looking pretty good so far let me know what u guys think. I might post a how to on here if u guys are interested, let me know. At first I was going to just sandblast the surfaces and paint them but decided to disassemble and strip them. I purchase a brembo rebuild kit for around $60 and replaced all the seals and dustboots while I was at it. I used VHT's caliper coating that is said to be heat resistant to 900F and isnt supposed to chip either. I also found this new brake lube to use from Permatex that has ceramic in it and is supposed to resist temps up to 2500F , its safe on all rubber and plastic. I still need to do the other caliper and decide on a decal. I found a place that makes high temp vinyl caliper decals and I ordered Brembo in black in the correct size but I am not sure that I want to go that way. I'm having him make some in STi like the new '08 has, I'm getting them in black and cherry blossom. I'll post some pics and start a poll, maybe u guys can help me decide, I'm think that a lighter silver or white would look good as well.
