Also here are a couple of more recent photos of my car. I've since swapped wheels to prepare for the winter. I'm running stock wheels powdercoated a gunmetal finish with Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSi's. I ran them last year, they are a great winter tire. I'll get some pics with them installed and get them up soon.

After header and wrap last year, I thought it looked like a cool pic with the smoke.

Awesome pics and great to see a car with some miles on it. I'm looking forward to well over 100k on mine (only at 36k now).

Thanks, I'm sure you'll have no problem making it there. Just keep up on basic maintenance, Amsoil FTW!

Update: Grimspeed Externally gated uppipe installed w/ P&P stock manifold and Grimspeed crossover. Well its been 1 week since I finished up on everything and installed it all. Before this I ran a Perrin Equal Length header with a Ultimate Racing external 44mm uppipe. So far I am loving the new setup, the sound of the external wastegate and stock manifold is awesome. The car sounds more like a v8 now compared to the equal length setup I had previously. Boost control and power are great too, I still need to play around with my map some to see if I can gain anything from the different setup but I am fully spooled up at around 4000 which is what I was at with the equal length setup. My logs show similiar maf voltages as well so I dont think I lost any power switching setups. And now here are some pics of my porting work.

before

after material removal using a double cut burr

and final polishing using standard abrasives crossbuff's

good job! i love crossbuffs and the gloss finish... def ftw! i actually ported my invidia header and used these to get the smooth finish back...

used em on multiple manifolds and still love em!

what bit did u use to do the hardcore grinding?

why'd u lose the perrin header?

finished product

The tools used, 50 and 80 grit cartridge rolls and 80 and 120 grit flappersalong with extensions that helped me keep very deep. These were purchased through McMasterCarr and the crossbuff kit was purchased through summit racing. I'll post more about the process I used later if u guys are interested.

I also purchased this cheap little hobby vise which worked great, I saw that lowes also sells this but I bought mine at sears. Just have to spray alittle water under it and it suction to any surface, it held great for hours. It allows u to angle your work piece at just about any position. Also u can see the carbide burr I used and the mini Kobalt die grinder, both worked great aswell.

Thanks, it took some time but it was worth it I feel. I've never ported cast iron and soon realized it takes alittle more time. I agree, the crossbuffs worked great to finish things up and they fit the inside diameter of the manifold perfectly. I posted a pic of the burr I used, its a double cut burr.
Well I went back to the stock header mostly because I wanted to port match everything and see what kind of differences it would make. I also was curious to hear how my EWG would sound on the stock setup and like I stated already I am in love with the sound. Un-equal length FTW!

Where did you get the carbide bit? I've been having trouble finding one that big for a decent price, all of the ones I've come across and used in the past were much smaller.
