Hmm, I see. I don't think it was a factory or openly publicized dealer option though...

Default Re: Chaos's 05 STi: NOW WITH REAR-ENDED MOD!

so i was on my way home from work, minding my own business, when some jackass in a mid 90's accord rear-ended me... he hit me pretty hard because his airbags went off, but the damage to my car was no where near as bad as i thought it would be... my back is a bit sore so im going to see a doctor this week... yay... anyway damage pix

damage to my car:
rear bumper needs replaced, crash bar is bent, other misc. misaligned panels...
damage to his car:
bumper is ****ed, headlights are ****ed, hood is ****ed, fender is ****ed, airbags went off, windsheild broke.

it what makes a subaru, a subaru.

you need to install a tow hook.

glad you're ok.

damage looks minimal hopefully it's only cosmetic.

time for a new rear bumper with diffuser?

Loving the car except for the rally mudflaps but I know you live in snow country but take them off in summer but otherwise sexy car.

Usually after you get a quote for the repairs (go to the most expensive place you know), you can either have that shop do the repairs or just get a check written to you. If you do the latter, you can then buy everything you need for cheaper and do the work yourself and have cash left over, or go to a cheaper shop that still does good work and have cash left over for the diffuser.
