ok, so i've decided that i need to de-STi my car haha... in total it has 19 STi logo's on the car (3 on the front, 1 under the hood, 4 on the mudflaps, 8 on the interior[gauges, seats, gaugecontroller], 1 on the trunk and 1 on my muffler).... now the gauges stay, and the muffler stays.... what do you guys think is the best way to lower this... im kinda thinking the mudflaps should be the first to go, the look good but i mean its alot of sti logos... post up some thoughts!

I had this same conversation with a buddy of mine (alphasti). There is a TON of branding on that car, and at first, I added to it by purchasing the Autospeed License cover, but a few weeks ago, I debadged my trunk completely. Now it's looking ever so sweetness. The interior stuff, I left.

mini tire review! Potenza RE01-R

first impression:

HOLY ****! haha... these things just felt great.. they ride much smoother than the pirelli's, make much less road noise and generally make the car feel better...i was fortunate enough to get them out in the rain on my first night with them.. and they felt very stable... never felt unsure... i cant wait to work these things out.

I was thinking of getting those tires, thanks for the review.

Don't worry about the track, just take it easy and you'll be fine.

I've read a lot of great reviews with the RE01-Rs because I'm tire searching my self and settled on the bang for the buck kumhos ecsta spt. I figured the set of kumhos will be for daily driving and I won't need all that grip and would value ride/noise comfort more for this set of rims. I have winter tires and rims and my BBS stockers will eventually be my track setup. If money wasn't an issue I'd be all over the RE01-Rs! It's no wonder you see all those best motoring cars rocking those tires. Glad to hear you're enjoying those rubbers and btw your car looks wonderful!

Your first track experience will be a blast and just try to get a feel for the car+track at first and take it easy. It won't be going anywhere so spend your time finding your driving lines then drive progressively quicker.

How do you like Zymol?

I need to detail our Tacoma and was wondering if I could just use the Zymol instead of polishing and using regular wax.

ok, im not even sure where to start, but i know i need to let you guys in on all of the craziness thats been going on this past week and a half...

ok so lets see, so i had a crapload of parts coming in, in preperation of my track day yesterday... youve seen the list... whatever haha... so i had to go pick up some more stuff, before that dustin (totheix's) and i installed my strut tower bars that i got from turbotektuning (excellent pricing and fast shipping, cant beat that), big improvement with the carbing bar, not too noticeable with the tein rear...anyway... (if i miss anything im sorry haha)

friday june 8th: woke up early on my day off, drove to Shades of Gray to meet up with ryan and pick up his stock sti catback for my winter set up...then proceeded to drive up to clifton, NJ to meet up with caesar from Lightwerkz... he sold me some almost mint gold BBS's and a set of blizzaks... he also had possesion of a wing i purchased off of someone on IWSTI who was local to him... we shoved all this into my moms Highlander and proceed to drive home... long ass day...

saturday the 9th: Dom, goodfella732, drove what seems to be an endless drive, to come down and hang out in my area, that day spawned all the pictures and videos that he and i have posted in that time frame... we got some cool in-car video with my new camera mount that we installed...

sunday june 10th: at about 10 pm, my good friend/mechanic Don drove over with his moms escort wagon and we shoved 8 tires and 4 wheels in there so he could do the work i was paying him for haha...it was a tight squeeze and quite funny...think immigrants stuffed into a very small car..i also traded cars with don that night, since he was going to be working on my car i needed something to get to work in .. so i was rocking his zx2.

monday june 11th: don began work on the car, swapped all the fluids that i asked (coolant, engine oil, trans, diff) and mounted/balanced all the tires (silver bbs got the blizzaks, gold got the re01r's) and i went over to get the unmounted pirelli's that im currently selling i also took home the silver wheels and the golds were on the car... progress was being made and i was getting nervous about the 16th... which was going to be my first ever track day

tuesday june 12th: when i got off work i drove over to don's shop (less than 5 min away) to hang out and help finish up what i could... he was in the process of doing the brakes, they were being cut (very ****ing slowly) by a shop down the road so we could only work as fast as they came in... either way... to compress this a bit... we got them on with only a minor set back (lower caliper bolt on the drivers side front stripped out and had to be helicoiled)... so the goodridge lines were on, the xp8's were on, and the sticky tires were on, i was amped. we proceeded to go bed in the pads. that was an adventure in itself haha. i called carbotech to find out how to bed in their race pads on the street haha guy told me do about 12 stops from 80-20.. get them warm and let them cool basically... it was interesting doing this on the highway with people driving by going WTF is that guy doin?... i went back to the shopped, paid my bill and went on my way. the reason i chose to have a shop do this is because it took some of the stress off of me... and i dont have enough time to do things thoroughly during the week...

wednesday the 13th: just drove around the car, got used to the tires a bit, and enjoyed the massive amounts of squeeling from the brakes

thursday the 14th: heres where the fun begins haha... ok so my plan for the weekend was this... drive down to MD to my gf's house thursday night, go to racecomp engineering on friday morning, then drive all the way to my cabin in the poconos that friday night... my plans were slightly skewed when my gf found out that a good friend/xbf that she dated for like 6 years, had died in a car accident, i was lost in what to do but thats neither here nor there... basically she didnt know what she was going to do so i had to kinda play things by ear... *GASP* from saying so much.... ok so i cleaned up the car, posted the pictures of the car with the gold wheels various places on teh intarweb and rolled out to MD (2 hour drive)... i didnt get there til late, and my gf was an emotional wreck, which i understand... i was still unsure whether or not i liked the gold/cgm combo.

to be cont'd...
