So saturday night, i get home and i decided to park the car in the grass.. so that the next day it would be in the shade. Fair enough. Well my dad ended up mowing the grass the next day so the car had to be moved. again, fair enough.

this was at around 9 am on a sunday... which is my "saturday"... so i was obviously passed out still... and my sister asks me where my keys are so that my mom could move the car.. "no big deal" i think, she knows how to drive... anyway... she couldnt find my main set which has the keyfob on it, because i wasnt given ample time to gtfo of bed. so she takes the spare and knows how to disable the alarm with it. and she turns the car on... of course the music is blaring... and shes not paying attention.... so she drives the thing straight down out of the yard.. well theres a drain runoff area right next to the driveway and she catches the lip right on the edge of the pavement... essentially ripping the lip... its still attached to the car (proper mounting ftw) but holy **** is it banged up...

she offered to possibly get a new one.. but when she heard what they cost (an authentic v-limited lip for my body style retails for about 500) .. she quickly said hold on a minute lol... so hopefully so i can con her into getting me a new one.

Update:

After dealing with some scary issue with my oil temp gauge, i've figured out that i need to replace the oil temp sensor and should probably replace the water temp sensor. The oil temp at cold start reads like 80C and then proceeds to spike past all the numbers on the gauge. The water temp bounces around from time to time... so i think that needs replace but not nearly as urgently as the oil temp.


Now onto the next big thing in my car's history...

I finally got some more seat time! lol. Sunday was my first ever auto-x event and man, i gotta say it was a blast. It was a relatively fast course...and had some tight spots as well. My buddy Adrian was a "co-driver" aka he drove the car during the first heat because his srt-4 is slightly borked right now. From what hes told me, and what i can tell... he loved it. It was his first time driving my car but not his first time auto-xing... hence my trust in his ability to handle the thing. He was actually first in SM until the 3rd heat.

I rode along with him on his second run and he was having fun for sure... got loose a couple times... scared me a bit but he felt it was a poor representation of the lines to take and what not so i went out on his 3rd run as well. It was definitely eye opening to see how hard he pushed the car. He ended up with a fastest time of 52.3 IIRC but results havent been posted yet.


2nd heat, adrian was working, i was driving. My first run was terrible. I was trying to process everything and at the same time, break my street driving habits. I think my time on that run was a 57.8 or something around that. My second run was definitely alot better. I had a way better idea of where i wanted to be, what gear i needed to be in (2nd, lol) and i was getting smoother. I got a 56.8 or something like that, with one cone. 3rd run was again much better, smoother etc. I finished it with a 57.4 i think. when i was waiting to go out for my 4th and final run... i realized i had made a HUGE mistake. my Ohlins were set on my street "full soft" setting. Had i adjusted them, i can garauntee the car wouldve behaved a lot better. I'm still pissed at myself. I didnt want to try adjusting in the lot because i wasnt positive of the direction i needed to turn them or whatever. Anyway, My 4th run was my best. Finished with a 55.xx... Again i was alot smoother, and was finding more speed in every corner.

Overall conclusion of the event:

- I'm a huge idiot for n ot adjusting my suspension.
- I shouldve taken my subwoofer out (dont ask)
- Seat time is ftw.
- I wish it was more laps or something.
- Auto-X is good for some weekend fun.
