Although not a popular answer I like the 06' tails the best. If I had an 07' I would consider. I don't like the chrome.

I have had the new turbo on for a week now and the car is actually really quick. I was getting some negative comments left and right from people on this board stating how this turbo is not a worth while upgrade. This couldn't be further from the truth. Two of my buddies with 35R 05' STi's have been in my car and they were shocked. The car propells so nicely and in boost the propolsion is much more than I expected. If anyone in So Cal is considering this turbo hit me up for a drive.

Very tempting. But I've pushed back my turbo upgrade to next year. I'm glad to hear that you're pleased with this turbo! Keeps my options open.

How does the turbo you have compare to a 20G? More top end, bottom end, spool, overall power, etc?

Hey man,

The 20G is capable of a little more top end for sure due to the 44mm wheel opposed to the 42mm wheel. I would say the APS SR40 has better low end by a small margin but overall they are very similar.

Just for a comparison a buddy of mine has an 04' STi with a 20G, APS 70mm intake, Perrin inlet, built and tuned by Harman. He only has a 91 map so its hard for me to get a apples to apples comparison because I only run 100 but my car is without a doubt quicker. However, because of my minimal mods I am confident his car would be quicker than mine if we ran the same octane.

Have you considered an APS TMIC by any chance?

Last night I went to the local 1/8th mile with my new turbo. My times were not great because the track was terrible and I need to relearn how to drive the car. I only ran twice and didn't get a solid run in so I am sure I will improve. What I am excited about is that I gained a solid 3mph in the trap which is great especially for an 1/8th mile.

87mph

i'm inconsistent w/ launches... it's still fun once in awhile... back in town, i'll be around in a few weeks with new toys/tune

Man I was just down there for my tune at Harman last week, wish I could have stopped down there and taken a ride in your car. Oh well. Nice numbers with the new turbo!
