Default Jutes85's STi UPDATE: 03/09/08: DOM3 Project

Just a little history to how I came about the Suby.

The search began for a Suby in the winter of 2006. I knew right away that I wouldn't be satisfied unless I manned up and got the STi. Before I really committed to the purchase, I needed to find a local STi to test drive. So one weekend I headed down to Edmonton to look at the two dealers. First stop was City Subaru. I knew that getting a test drive on a new STi was going to be difficult, but standing outside for nearly an hour without one salesman approaching was ridiculous. Next stop was Rally. Immediately I was approached by someone and offered me the keys to a modded 05 STi. The onramp to the whitemud was where I was instantaneously hooked. I wasn't interested in buying said STi, it had a rough idle, high mileage and looked like it was beat on. They also tried to get me into a new 06...for $52k. No thanks.

With the test drive complete I started my search. Importing one was looking like the best and cheapest option. Unfortunately with my schedule and lack of days off, I didn't have the time to fly down to the US and drive back. Luckily, in February of 07 I found an imported STi in Calgary that was practically brand new. I worked the numbers and it was only 1K more then what it would take me to fly down and do all the paperwork myself. I drove down to Calgary the same weekend to take a look. I didn't get a chance to test drive it because it had the RE070's and it was snowing outside. It only had 8k on it so I figured anything that was wrong would be taken care by warranty. The dealer offered me a very generous amount for the trade-in. It was a DEAL. Everything looked great from the carfax report and I picked it up the following weekend.

The rest is history.

The ride height looks similar to mine on the Cobb Sport Springs. What color are they?

I have no idea what they are, someone said they are Tein S-techs judging by the pics. I will find out soon when it gets warmer outside.

I didn't realize that the headlights aren't stock either, bonus!

Very nice...congrats on the car!

If you notice she is also debadged, no STi stickers on the foglight covers or the side where the front doors are.

Yeah, noticed the stickers were gone, don't mind that at all.

Bought the car in Calgary, it was an import anyways. The price was pretty much the same to what it would cost me to import one, so they saved me the hassle.

Default Re: Jutes85's STi UPDATE: 18/03/07

Update:
Got my Cobb APv2 in today and flashed Stage 1. Car pulls alot better in the top gears and the live-data features are pretty cool. Bought a $2 mounting bracket thing from Zellers and wala:

I have also put in an APS 65mm CAI which makes loud woosh sounds and had a professional alignment done since the spring install. Car handles alot better now and feels more responsive since the alignment.
