That sounds like a fun night Grams. How hard is it to install the group-n engine mounts?

You should come down. I'll PM Brodie.
Haha, isn't it nice to have two young eager mechanics right down the street?

I think Kyle is underestimating the PITA-ness of the X-Brace install and is going to regret offering...

I was going to come down but you said that you weren't doing the install so I stopped planning on it.

Oh, and I'm not going to Gumball /sad.
Do you want to go to a drift event at Infineon on the 13th of next month? I am a "promoter" for the event so you'd be doing me a favor. Lol.

RAPTR has done it and he recommended a cherry-picker to help. Schell and No593 helped as I remember.
In looking at the mounts I could see where the picker would help tremendously. There are several really-good How To's on it. Hopefully printing these and having them available will help get it done quickly.
These mounts have been sitting since December 06'.
Friggin sad...

The two mechanics are very helpful. All I gotta do is keep them full of beer and take them to hairband shows and they wrench for me.

I hadn't planned the install until they offered. I gotta' work for a bit Saturday and then will head over to Kyle's for wrenchy time.

Bummer about Gumball. I missed the Dromo Event, California Speedway, HellaFlush, and Mt. Hammy BAIC. I will not miss Subiefest....period.

I'll be in Pinecrest with my boy camping that weekend. Cub Scout stuff....

Yeah, I shoulda gone to the HellaFlush meet, that looked like fun. I didn't go to Hammy just b/c it was pretty quiet this year as opposed to last but I am definitely going to step up on the car participation ****. Oh, and way to use the Cub Scouts as an out to not go to a drift event. I know that AWD>RWD but don't hate!!

Doh, I am an idiot. I was actually at Raptr's place when he did his cuscos. I meant to ask about the tranny mount, as I already have the TIC crossmember bushings waiting to be installed.

Please post your impressions on the mounts, as I am torn between group-ns and cuscos.

The tranny mount will only add to the bliss the cross-member bushings bring. Though, the only draw-back is that the engine vibrations absolutely destroy fragile JDM pulley covers made of aluminum. I killed two.
I hope RAPTR can make it Saturday. He is a human Subie Encyclopedia and owns a beer-bong.

What better friends to have than a bunch of bored gearheads? I had to work Saturday but dropped my car at muskathomas' house to pull the COBB's off and get the Cusco toys installed finally. I arrived at around 1030am and we wrenched and pulled wires until 930pm. Good times. Big thanks to muskathomas, johnsrt4, Importfanatic17, derek_valentine, RAPTR, and little grambo for the wrenching!
Crappy pics from broken work camera:

Had to remove my X-Brace to make it all fit but, it will leave room for some CF Cusco goodies.

*EDIT* Found these on the wife's camera!...LOL

I gutted the interior to run the miles of E-con wiring...

Preparing for engine mounts...

Giving up on engine mounts due to excessive beer consumption...LOL

Seeing this guy holding his head during an install is a BAD thing! LOL

Honestly, thats all I got right now. I spent last night cleaning up loose ends in the engine bay and tweaking on a few things while BBQing dinner. Tonight I'll pull the back seat back out and tweak on a few more things. Then, maybe, later in the week I'm slammin' it to the ground.
I've got a massive honey-do list this week so we'll see.

It will be up for sale after I gather all of the hardware, clean it, and take some pics. I may throw a quick coat of paint on it because the previous owner scratched the snot out of it.
