My name's Ryan. Here's a little journal of my car...from when i bought it...till now. And it is a work in progress. I bought it in march of 05 with 4300 miles on the odometer. I paid 27.5k for it. No stereo...no aftermarket parts...no nothing. Just to let you know. I am a huge fan of shopping around and getting good deals for my money. I will spend lots of time on here and Ebay looking for parts and getting awesome deals. I will buy new or used stuff. But, used stuff i will be very picky about...there's just some things you can buy used.

These are the mods I did in order. the main factor was money. thats why i havent done bigger stuff first..you know how it is:

summer of 05:
-APC p.o.s front strut bar from ebay $29
-Ebay sti replica rear strut bar $24
-Invidia downpipe ebay $209 <-heat wrapped the downpipe
-Cel fix from ebay $15
-perrin short ram intake from ebay $70
-exhaust shop 3" midpipe $125

I had this exhaust on for awhile. It greatly decreased spool combined with my invidia downpipe. I was hitting 17psi with the stock ecu. i ran that for a couple months untill i went on a suby run. in 10/05 I heard an RS*R catback on a STi. pure sex. I had to buy one. but i wasnt gonna pay $600 for a new one! THE NEXT WEEK...
-RS*R catback used from ebay $189  to my door no joke! perfect condition!

-christmas of 05 my wife bought me an AP $645

I am now at cobb stg 2 :disco: but im not impressed with it. people talk it up too much. my butt dyno was expecting more . I didnt loose any fuel economy. still at 24.6mpg the best i could ever get.

from 11/05 until 6/06 i was only able to drive my car for a total of 14 days. I work all over the country and i had the car at home. So my wife put about 2k on the odo in that time. But, i was buying parts!

-Walbro from godspeed $85
STi walbro install concerns and questions - Factory 2.5L Turbo Powertrain - NASIOC
-Txs knocklite from godspeed $90
Where did you mount your knocklite? My install with pics-> - Factory 2.5L Turbo Powertrain - NASIOC <----pics
-SMC water/meth kit $509

-I decided to port and polish my throttlebody and intercooler elbows after doing much reasearch on here. So i got out the carbide bits and die grinder, yanked off my intercooler and throttlebody and went to town. i took a lot of metal out...making a very smooth transition instead of the WALL like the oem stuff was. here's my review with similar pics:
I Ported and Polished my intercooler elbows and throttlebody today - Factory 2.5L Turbo Powertrain - NASIOC

-Ordered..yet havent recieved..MadDad Clarity V2 EGT gauge $189
-All my suspension stuff from RacecompEngineering: $988
my review:  STi install: Swift springs, ALK, cusco sway bars, steering rack bushings and groupn's - Brakes, Steering & Suspension - NASIOC
-Swift springs
-Whiteline ALK
-Cusco front sway bar
-Cusco rear sway bar
-Superpro steering rack bushings
-Kartboy shifter bushings
-front GroupN strut tops
-I performed the alignment myself at a local Ford dealership.

LF -1.2*
RR -1.5*
LR -1.6*

Caster:
RF 4.9*
LF 5.0*

Toe:
RF 0
LF 0
RR -.02
LR +.01

-I also bought some floor mats from subaru$69
-From subiegal, I bought a corner dash mounted gauge pod $50

Now, i was going to get protuned. I had a date for July 31st. but i cancelled it. Ive decided to get a perrin gt30r kit. I didnt want to pay to get my car tuned twice in one year. So i am currently purchasing parts for my gt30r kit. I have been quoted $2400 for the whole kit. but i dont want to pay that. so im piecing it together. Also, i was running the stock tmic and i knew i needed the fmic. So i bought the Ebay fmic TXS rippoff intercooler

-Ebay intercooler $455 now cause they're going for $100 less?WTF
Currently, Ive been buying and searching for:

-Perrin rotated intake setup NEW $200
-TXS dtec boost controller NEW $350
-Blitz Turbo timer ebay with harness (yeah, i know.) $70
-Ebay stainless radiator shroud (complimented with a Perrin sticker) $30
-I will be buying a gt30r.82:
-Perrin rotated exhaust kit
-Tial wastegate
-Tial BOV
-Mahle pistons

again...this is a work in progress. Same with the edit of this post...stay tuned for more pics! anything specific?

pics courtesy of Verdugo's gallery from the Cascade Loop run.

What do you guys think of the front liscense plate job. I drilled holes into it and raised it up...then bent it over the top slightly. In WA, its a $101  dollar fine for no front plate . Its the only thing i could do...other than an EVO mounting bracket.

^^^look at it from farther away in the prev. posted pics: and
here's a closer shot:

I couldn't wait. *check's in the mail*!!!!

I sent PDXtuning an official check for an amount (since i've shared with you what I've spent so far, I'll let you know later ) in which PDX price-matched. I got a good deal! I've been talking to Forrest at PDXtuning alot lately and their customer service is Awesome! I have also been in contact with Jeff Perrin about a support bracket for my turbo setup also. The support bracket was not included in the turbo kit, but they will send you one as I believe it is a revision for the rotated turbo kit. I can't wait to see my new turbo!

I ordered up my:

Perrin gt30r.82 rotated mount turbo kit
http://perrinperformance.com/product...bo_upgrade.htm

On tuesday, I will buy:
-blue Tial Sport BOV
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TIAL-...QQcmdZViewItem

-boost logic T4 turbo blanket

On the following tuesday I will order:
-Crawford Performance air/oil separator
-gameboy

im in the middle of my 30r kit being installed right now and I bought a whole bunch of crap from www.siliconeintakes.com awhile ago. I was hoping to be able to make a CAI with this intercooler kit, coupled with the perrin 30r. Needless to say it has be a ride. I have come to the conclusion that without some serious fabrication, it cannot be done...using the 3" piping that I wanted to. As you can see in the pictures, this is a 3" intake. It may have been possible with smaller piping, but I didn't want to get into any maf turbulence issues. I wanted to stuff the piping down the hole in the fender and put the filter there....but some MAJOR cutting to the fender would be in order. I don't have time to do that..nor do I really want to. I ended up with this, mostly to move the maf sensor farther from the turbo, as some of you have possibly heard about the perrin kit and their intermittant idling problems. I wont sacrifice driveability. Also shown is how I connected the turbo to the intecooler hotside. It was very simple, I bought a 2.5 90* elbow, a 2.5" s.s joiner, and used the rest of the perrin stuff that my kit came with.
