Great thread! I am glad I am not the only one collecting small metal brackets in big bins in my garage!

To comment on the above, you should check with aerospace/airplane supply shops. I believe Ti hardware is pretty common for weight reduction there. You don't want Mg bolts, they would gall and shear off all the time.

Hex Head Bolts on Tico Titanium Inc. Just a quick google search. Not sure on pricing though.

How about some colored aluminum bolst for lighter duty apps like headlights, washer fluid tank.... ect.

Untitled Document < I couldn't get a direct link to work so go to "Titanium & Aluminum Fassteners"
Then go all the way to the bottom of the page and you'll see the Aluminum bolts.

Post back some of the qoutes yoou get. Id be interested in some bolts to help out on a quantity dicsount, depending on price.

Ti bolts are ridiculously expensive. I was searching before and it averages to be $12 for a single hex bolt. I couldn't do more than 2 a week and at that point it'd probably get done in years. You're probably better off going with stainless, a little lighter, a lot cheaper.

Thanks for all your hard work.
1) cut out all unused thread bosses TAUNT

2) aluminum steering column TAUNT

3) fuel cell TAUNT

4) convert maf to map TAUNT

5) cut out roof braces TAUNT

6) sand the front and rear bumper covers thinner TAUNT

7) grind excess metal off exhaust flanges TAUNT

8) remove every bolt, drill pinhole through center TAUNT

9) then hit the heads with a grinderTAUNT
