IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (15) | A comment on APS headers by a user that shall remain nameless for the sake of my journal since I just deleted his PM: ------------------------------------------------ Dude, If those things cracked after I paid like 200 to get them coated I would fly to austrailia to throw them at APS myself... the worst part about those headers is that they dont even want them back there is a pile of about 15 of them in a locked closet at the dealer that sells them here... The up-pipe to manifold gasket is the same as the manifold to cylinder head... if you are talking about the little metal plate that goes between the manifold and the up-pipe with the gaskets on each side yes I have that. That is what I was talking about when I said I would throw in extra gaskets to make that thing wider. You will understand when you see it all... There is so much twisting and warping that it basically destroys the fasteners that you will be using. And the flex joints start out stiff but after they are on the car for just a few days they are like butter. I took my car to the track and did nasa events so it wasnt your everyday type of use and abuse on them and I had stock engine mounts. I would not reccomend spending the money to coat this header and heat wrapping the header is even further out of the question. If you really wanted some type heat management get that APS heat sheilding that goes around the rest of the header... I will update you as soon as I see the parts guy tomorrow. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (15) | Some info from LightWerkz pertaining to CDN 05 STI HID retrofit The canadian models do not come with HID right? That means there is no way we can do the swap unless I install new projectors and an hid setup for you. I can covert everything to HID using the TSX projectors, and oem sti hid kit. When you got it back it would be plug and play. $$$$ for the TSX retrofit and $$$$ for the oem sti hid setup plug and play. Bulbs are brand new, ballasts are used. Ive had about 4-5 customers from cananda do conversions. Everything is plug and play. No, since you have a canadian model (same lights as wrx) there is no headlamp leveler. Your car doesnt even have the wiring or plugs for it so its pretty much useless. And my kits do not provide them, although I do have a set here I could sell you, I just dont think its worth it since when the lights are adjusted there is never a need to switch the adjustment. For TSX Retrofit, with harness and oem sti hid setup is $$$$ before shipping/paypal fees/ any bulbs you may want besides hid and painting or even angel eyes. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (15) | Information on Tinting in Vancouver Advance Window Films in Coquitlam charged me $299 and I think Downtown Auto spa wanted over $400 or so. I am happy with the job and the tint I got was not mirrored just tint. I think the mirrored stuff has metal that would cause issues with the AM reception.. The ceramic didn't seem to affect some AM channels but others it might have or it could have been the area I was in. I have Sirius so I almost always listen to it instead. |
