IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (12) | Ive tuned a WRB FMIC, I mean its nothing special compared to any other fmic I have come across. Honestly even with the greatest tune, the lag will still be there. If your as picky as I am then it will be noticable not to mention the rich spike but that should not be an issue when you put in the bigger turbo (as much of an issue). I have got my WG locked until it is suppose to hit full boost. It does help but instead of hitting full boost at 2800pms I don't hit it until at least around 3200 now. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | Crystal - I figured that was the case. I don't see how any FMIC can eliminate the inherent lag. Longer pipes, more air to move, MAF delay... I knew what I was getting myself into though. I'm extremely picky/sensitive to changes so it'll take some getting used to. If you don't mind me PM'ing you down the road after I get it tuned for your input on how to make it a little more "optimal." |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | Q-Rack installed! This thing is absolutely amazing. It's incredible how much of a difference this steering rack makes over stock. I finally feel that what happens to the steering wheel translates into what happens on the road. It's tight and heavy, steering response is instant and not a lot is required for something to happen. It's a very confidence inspiring feel now. Before I felt that the steering was too light and pretty vague in certain areas. That and the dead play when the wheel was dead center drove me crazy. You'd turn the wheel an inch and nothing would happen, then a bit more and all of a sudden the wheels would turn. Obviously you get used to it, but this is just sooooooo much better. Lock to lock: Stock - 3 turns Q-rack 11.5:1 - 2 turns Center to lock: Stock - 1.5 turns Q-rack -1 turn For those wondering whether the 11.5:1 was streetable (or "daily-driverable"), it definitely is 100% capable. I've already adjusted my steering inputs and can easily still drive with one hand on the wheel... and be relaxed. There's definitely no need for total concentration at all times for fear of crashing I think the Q-rack disclaimer is for idiots that go bang up their cars because they simply don't know how to drive.I'm very keen for the weather to warm up so I can actually test it at higher speed. On the highway, doing 85mph, it was solid as a rock. Lane changes were obviously a little bit twitchier, but it's not dangerous by any means. There's no chance that I'd want a 12.5:1 ratio now having driven the 11.5:1. So, c/n: Tighter, heavier, more responsive steering. Very streetable. Conclusion: Incredible suspension upgrade that I'm very, very happy with. I took a couple before and after videos that I'm downloading now. If they turn out, I'll post them up. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | i have a real question now, would you rather have the rack or coilovers first? do you feel the steering rack is better as a first susp mod?
