So I have a dissapointing update.

I purchased a set of used Perrin modified injectors off a member here (and on NASIOC) back in October.

I received them a while later and just had them sitting in the box. Well, recently, with my project slowly unwinding and my turbo install nearing, I thought I'd better get my injectors flow tested.

Well, turns out he sold me 4 POS's.

1 injector doesn't flow at all, while the other 3 flow, but very inconsistently and much below the "816cc's" he promised.
I'm trying to get a hold of him via email and PM but no response yet. Hmmm, this could be bad.

A pic of the actual injectors can be found in my 1st post... you can even see some damage on the one injector.

I'm hoping that he's man enough to respond to my emails and PM's and to eventually return what I paid to him. He can have them back (I have no use for them now), but we'll see what happens.

Grrrr... no project can go start to finish without hiccups.

I have some Perrin modded's sitting in my garage that I been using on my car for the past 6 months. They perform beautifully! My tuner had no issues scaling them when he tuned my car. If you pay for shipping, they're yours. Let me know!

That's a shame, one reason why I usually try to avoid buying used parts unless they are from someone I trust. Good luck getting it straightened out.

^No kidding... especially something as vital as injectors. Hopefully it all works out but I have a feeling things aren't going to go well with this one. We'll see.

BM_STi, thanks - I sent you a PM.

Please let us know who the user is, and give him negative feedback. That is really not cool.

Meh. I think I am there with you. I don't know if you have followed my travails but since my turbo upgrade w/PE850s I bought used and my CEL problems and rough idle are looking more like injectors all the time. I did not think to get them checked before time and that was a mistake. At least you did think to check them before you went any further.

edit: My problem may be with the latency tables in the tune as well but doubtful.

Hmmm, bad luck man. Hopefully it's not the injectors, but you may be right.
Are you going to pull them and get them tested? If it isn't your tables, that might be your only option.

Let us know.

It's funny, when I did my turbo upgrade I too had purchased a set of modified perrin 816 injectors off of e-bay (yea I know). Well, we installed everything & I scaled the injectors for 816 with my street tuner.....what do you know, they were not even modified....THEY WERE STOCK! I contacted the BUM who sold them to me (who posts over on NASIOC) and he promised to give me back the dough. But I am still yet to see a dime. It still pisses me off to this day.
Well, I later purchased PE850's and am very glad I did. I have heard multiple people having issues with the Perrin modded injectors.
Chalk it up to experience.

I hope you get your dough back.

Haha, all these Perrin modded injector stories! No one has any luck with them.... But yeah, everytime you think about it, it just kicks you in the balls just a little bit. So frustrating.

But thanks for the bump in the FS section, and hopefully things get sorted out. We'll see....

Food for thought: you don't need bigger injectors if you run meth with your 20g

^Lol, you and your meth.

You sure you don't have a little something going on in your basement that you'd like to share with the rest of us

Jk, and thanks again for the help.

edit: Happy Bday man

Haha thanks!

I'd totally do meth if I had the stones to do so Oh, and the money. Bought myself a nice LCD TV for my birthday, that puts a nice damper on any mods for a few months!

Sorry to hear that Whyte, hope that seller gets taken care of.

If you don't go with BM's Perrin's did you consider checking out the Nismo 720s? People say they sit excellently and idle like stock. Just an idea.

Good luck!

I am in a hell of a pickle myself. I do not have a map to run if I put the stock injectors back in and I can't afford downtime from my DD STi. I really just want to get rid of or have flow-tested the PE850s-damn tuner told me to get them but now I know that was bad advice. I would look at some 720s or something that I know would be just fine.

edit: for that fact, I can't even access my latency tables because my map is a locked Protuner map. I'm screwed.
