Did it come with any options? I paid 34k with the homelink upgrade and the perfromance group b(i think thats what its called). I had a horrible experience with Carter.

Definitely not! I didn't think you'd be all that interested in a baseline dyno day... I was in and out in 30 minutes.
Anyway, the next time I'm down there is going to be a joke.
Installing the 20g, FMIC, APS CAI (etc etc... and all the supporting mods) as well as dynoing and protuning. That is going to be a lot of fun
I'll give you a shout before I head down and you can pop by to see the work in progress

Yeah, Carter was not good. They wouldn't deal on the car, or any options or parts. So, ummmm, denied.
I ordered the factory sub/amp upgrade, the homelink upgrade, and the short shift kit. So, I think I cut a good deal at $33,5K OTD

^^No, I refused to deal with them. Joe wouldn't deal on the car itself, nor any options so that's where our relationship ended.
It wasn't his fault, it's the managements fault. They are the ones that accept or deny offers.

I tried to work with David Wood at Carter and his manager. The ammount they offered me on my R32 for trade in was laughable. They wouldn't go below MSRP and Dave kept tryint to tell me they were gonna run out of them. Then they got 8 delivered (all supposidly sold) suddenly they had 3 for sale (buyers backed out, is what they told me). I had decided I was going to privately sell the R32 allready, so I told them that I wouldn't pay over invoice. He wouldn't budge. Three weeks later when they still had two of the three sitting on the lot and I flat out told them I would go with them if they matched my deal with Eastside, they refused. I guess they don't mind having cars sit on the lot. Oh well, I got the deal I wanted and somebody eventually got screwed by Carter.

So more parts are rolling in.
Most of my suspension has arrived. Just waiting on a lost package from RCE to get my Defi Boost gauge and Controller, as well as my Kartboy endlinks. Once that shows up, my suspension mods will be ready for install. (The C/O's are going on this weekend though )

The rest of the "big" mods have arrived as well. The FP 20g, Cobb TBE, Pulley, injectors and fuel pump are just waiting on the V2 AP to seal the deal. December is going to be a wicked month

Thanks bud. A lot of research when into the mods according to my tastes/preferences, but I think this should turn out to be a very quick, stealthy, DD.

You ordering all your stuff from the US or is there a STi vendor in Canada? I hope the import taxes are too bad.

Good luck with this project, you sure started early.

I've ordered what I can through Blaine @ Subracing (in Edmonton). The TBE, turbo, and pulley are all through them. They pay shipping and just incorporate whatever duty into the cost. It's worked out well.
The other stuff I've all ordered through the US. There's certain "methods" to alleviate the customs tax burden

This Saturday or Sunday I'll have them on. A friend has a lift and air tools, so that'll cut the install time in half. I'm definitely looking forward to a tighter and lower feel.

I don't at all. I'm 24 years old. Almost 25....
I'm a professional athlete, student, and have some business ventures that I'm involved in.

The job that pays the bills:

^cool, I wondered if that was you in your avatar. Do you ever play any tournaments that we might be able to see televised in the US?

Sports are always more fun to watch if you know (or whatever you call our relationships are here online) someone who is playing.

I could be wrong but I believe he plays squash. Correct? I have yet to see a televised squash game in the US. What school do you goto?

I guess what is interesting about this project is the origins and where you are going with it. You are comming from an A3 which much like my highly missed R32, is expensive to mod. However you have nearly spent enough here(estimating) to buy an A3 S-Line and put a turbo in it. I am also surprised at the route you have taken on your suspension. Its a large departure from daily driving comfort.

Bryan
