Great choice of mods, I love the design of the WBR fmic, and the 20g's haul ass!

Can't wait for the pics, I like the new white.

Thanks a lot. I'm very excited to get the project underway.
The FMIC should be an interesting upgrade... I haven't read of an application on a STI yet, so I'll be curious to see how my car responds.

Alright, parts update!!
Everyday feels like Christmas... except I'm always Santa

Just Arrived
Pioneer Avic Z1 HU
Whiteline FSB
Whitleline RSB
APS 65mm CAI

See 1st post for pics!

I also changed my FP turbo housing to the larger 8cm^2. It was only an extra $100 so I thought I'd be crazy not going with the bigger housing.
Damn... I wish all this stuff was on my car NOW!

^Yeah, I am.

If I had more patience, I would have waited a few months since FP has stated that the bigger hotside isn't going to cost a cent more than the smaller one...

BUT, I have zero patience!!

What dealer in Edmonton did you order this from? Did you consider a US STi?

Add me to the list of those that can't wait to see the pictures. You're gonna have a blast driving it back, even if you are breaking it in. Enjoy!

Alright, finally!!! I've had my car for a few days now but with all the stuff going on here with life in general, haven't had time to update my journal.

Chapter 1 - the pickup.
I flew into Seattle Monday morning to be picked up by my salesman. He's a good guy actually... fellow sporting nut. So, get to the dealership and immediately see my Satin White Pearl Limited peeking out the dealer windows. I'm already proud
So, after the multitude of paperwork, it's finally time to get on the road. Well, things couldn't be completely seamless since my salesman accidentally locked the keys in the car.
Nice.
So, then it was the big procedure getting the service guy to come over, pry the window back a bit, then insert a metal rod in to push the unlock button. No harm done, just a waste of time.

Chapter 2 - Initial impression and drive
Well, I'm happy. Besides the posts I have on here and NASIOC about the lack of throttle response in the 2007's as compared to the 2004-2006 STI's, the Limited is an amazing machine. The fit and finish of the exterior and interior are superb... quite good for a Subaru. The seats look awesome with the dark silver STI stitched into them. The signature #657/800 is a very cool touch too. I did notice that the stock HU looked quite cheap, but the sound quality was decent considering I had the OEM sub/amp upgrade installed. After plugging my iPod into the AUX jack, the tunes were coming on strong.

Chapter 3 - Break-in
Since I was driving from Seattle to Edmonton (about 900+ miles), I knew I had to do the majority of the intial break-in from Seattle to the border. So, following motoman techniques, I did a bunch of 3rd gear WOT runs (of course, after the engine was thoroughly warmed up) on the highway. I drove the car hard for the first 60 miles, then stopped doing WOT runs. I backed off quite a bit and tried to vary my rpm's and constantly slowed down and sped up, running through the gears. It made for some odd driving and not the best time-saving, but it was the best thing for the car.
Again, I noticed that the higher the RPM's, the happier the vehicle. And the gearing change is markedly different. 3rd and 4th gear pulls are much longer than were on my 04.

Chapter 4 - Border fun
Well, to keep this short, the border was an experience. After staying on the I-5 up to Blaine, WA, I was told by the custom's officer there that I was at the wrong crossing. I had to go to the Pacific crossing a mile east.... Well, after I got to the right place, it was a 15 minute procedure. A lot of money was handed over (on my part ) and off I went.

Chapter 5 - The long goddam drive
What a long drive. I started driving at 10:30am PST, and made it to Calgary at 11:30pm MST. I overnighted there (staying with family) and made the final 2 hour drive back to Edmonton the next morning.

922 miles

Talk about a break-in.

The drive was tough though, but fun. I had to deal with every different type of road condition: Snow, sleet, fog, rain, sun, dust/dirt, ice. It was pretty wild cruising through the mountains with no cell reception on summer tires and snow falling. Needless to say, I was paying full, FULL, attention to the road. The nightmare scene of me crashing my brand new STI kept me concentrated for about 8 hours

Chapter 6 - Home
At last. Such a fun trip. I'd do it again in a second, no doubt. My family and friends love the car almost as much as I do....

Chapter 7 - Project WhyteSTI has begun
The first night I was home, I installed my Avic Z1 HU. I had already crimped all the harness wiring together, and had everything prepared for install. The 2007 ugly-ass OEM headunit is out, and the very amazing Z1 is in.
Install Post

Chapter 8 - PICTURES!!!
Full warning here: These are the worst pictures ever. It's been raining ever since I got home and so I still haven't had a chance to get the car washed and take it for a proper photoshoot. The second the skies clear, there will be much better pics These are all from my garage.

ps. I updated my first post to include pictures of arrived mods (WBR black FMIC), as well as a small addition.... the ACPT carbon fiber DS
