This is great! Gotta love very helpful information in the journal.

Keep the info coming.

As to the original question/suggestion about my wheels... if anything, I think I'd paint them. Going dark (like black, or a dark powder coat) completely hides the lines of the wheel IMO. I'd go a light bronze or gold if anything. I've always had a soft spot for the gold BBS.

So, some minor updates and some major updates.

I'll start with the small stuff first:
1) The ACPT CF driveshaft finally showed up. UPS screwed up (wow ) and had it for 3 weeks before letting me know.
Anyway, it'll be going on tomorrow or Thursday.
2) My Prosport gauges and ATI Pod are all here as well. I have the EGT, OP, and Boost gauges in the 52mm "Premium" line. They look really great... can't wait to hook them up!
They'll be in tomorrow.

Now, the big stuff that is coming:
1) GT52 Turbo. This turbo sounds absolutely amazing.
It's a 7cm TD06 20g housing but with a Garret GT30r 52lb compressor wheel. It's internally gated and rated to run 375hp+ on pump gas. Also, it's a stock mount turbo.

2) APS 70mm CAI. I currently have the 65mm APS CAI but this intake will get maxed out on the GT52 so it's for sale. The 70mm will allow for the increased air volume for the GT52.

3) Perrin turbo inlet tube. The OEM inlet has been known to either tear from pulling off/putting on turbos, or to collapse under high horsepower situations... a la GT52 levels. So, I'm going to go with Perrin's inlet tube since it's a relatively simple install and doesn't require removal of the intake manifold. Much better.

So, that's pretty much it. I'll have some pictures up tomorrow as I'm on the road at the moment (heading back tonight).

I guess I'll have to update my first page with my mods... darn

Cheers!

I was told yesterday in reference to me: "I've never seen anyone so quick to mod their car" I've had my car for 4 months and I'm at stage 2 .

Good job man! Keep it up!

Wow. That is quite a setup for your car! I'm still waiting for the Cobb AP to come out before I do anything myself.

Thanks all for the words. I've been so crazy with competing and traveling lately that I haven't had time to do many installs or even keep the journal up to date.

So, tonight I installed my Prosport 52mm "Premium" gauges. Nothing special since I was only had time to get the gauges in the ATI clock pod, tap the BPV for the boost, and wire the electric boost sender.

The gauges actually look really good I was expecting a less close colour match... but from the pics you'll see that it's not all that bad. These gauges go white or amber depending on how you wire them, but I wired them for amber for day and night.

Here's the ATI Pod. Whoa

12V Constant from the Hazard switch - this is the green w/ black stripe wire. 3rd down on the right side, with the clip on the left.
This will allow for only 1 sweep on startup.

12V Ignition and Ground from Clock/Airbag - the blue w/ red stripe is 12V Ign, and Black is ground... imagine that

I left the white illumination wire from the gauges untapped since I wanted my gauges amber all the time. They can be set to be white all the time, or amber/white, white/amber, or amber/amber.

Pic of the mess:

End result - pics aren't for a poster, but just to show the colour match:

Decent colour match, eh?

I had most of the work done for my OP except I realized too late that the '06/'07 STI's have pretty much ZERO room to work with at the oil galley plug. I had the galley plug off and the new plug with the sender on... and that's when I stopped and stared. There was no way in hell that I'd be able to get this one coolant line back on with the sender there. No amount of manipulating or pulling on that line would get it to fit.... so I'm stuck with ordering a sandwhich adapter instead. Boo.

Also, much to my dismay, the boost gauge showed up dead. Another collective "BOO!" That was irritating to say the least. I figured something was up with it when it first arrived since
1) It didn't have the thin protective plastic on the gauge face;
2) It was missing the wiring harness from the gauge to the sender and;
3) The peak/alarm set button didn't work (which I discovered tonight).

So, I'll have to get a hold of Glenn @ Prosport tomorrow and hopefully he'll be able to send me a NEW gauge... not a broken oldie

So, tomorrow, time permitting, I'll install the ACPT DS and hopefully have a new boost gauge en route. The EGT gauge will have to wait too since I don't have the tools on hand to make a good job of it. Those wires will be zip tied away for another day.

Cheers all, hope the New Year has started well

Yeah, those gauges look to be a nice match. Is that with the gauge cluster at full bright illumination? Do the Prosports dim with the dash?

Nope. That picture was with the lights on, on 4/5 brightness.
They don't dim. Someone tried to dim them but the gauges stay the same colour until the voltage is cut to a point where they just turn off. No go on that one.

Hmm what did they move on the 07s to make it even more tight for the oil galley plug?

Here are the two pics I have of mine...first one is the galley hole, and the 2nd is with the Defi sender installed:

(The one silver tube in the background is the turbo, and the black circle in the upper left is the throttle body)

Is the prosport sender gigantic or something?
