Rice!

(j/k man )

Looks good, though I'm guessing it probably doesn't do much aerodynamically since you don't have a wing.

Are you getting summer rims, btw? (In the summer, of course).

If you don't mind me asking on the Volk wheels

1. What is the exact size and offset you are using for the wheels?
2. What finish are they in?
3. Also, what size tire are you using on those wheels?

Thank you...looks sweet BTW!

1. 18"x8", +46 or +49mm offset (can't remember which - they're in storage for the winter, otherwise I'd have checked for you... probably +49 though)
2. Mine are the "Silver" finish. They are also available in "Titanium Gunmetal" (a grey, matte finish), or "RMC".
3. I'm using 235/40/18 RT-615's, but I'm sure you can go a bit wider than that.

They look amazing on. But, I haven't had them on since I dropped my car on coilovers, so I'm guessing that when I throw them on in the summer, they're going to look even better.

Thanks man If you click on it, it'll take you to the first page of my journal where I have that pic in full size. You can see I need to do a little more photoshopping around the wheels

Hey whyte have you ever thought about gettin the spokes powdercoated Satin black or satin silver... reason i say is cause i've seen some nice lambo's, ferrari's, and mercedes in pearl white with satin finished colored rims and the satin finish seems to finish off pearl white beautifully!

Your car looks like it is having an awesome turn out! Should get some nice day time pics up if the weather is nice one day!

powder coating the rims weakens them.

Yep, painting is the way to go with forged rims.

(The heat for powder coating weakens the wheel).

That is not a true statement. There is an ideal temperature that will bake the wheel and not weaken it. You need to talk to a reputable shop on the proper baking temperature.

Fair enough, I made a generalization. I, for one, would not trust most shops to do it right

I wouldn't trust most shops either. Basically most shops will have a certain powder...and it'll cure at or above 400F, they do all their coatings at this temp. 400F is excessive for forgings in my mind. To powdercoat a forged wheel properly I wouldn't go beyond a 300F cure. Now you can get these powders but their more expensive- maybe because they're used less or the shop is only interested in smaller batch (for you)? Or the shop will have to buy some huge amount of this special powder and they'll want to pass this cost onto you, because it'll be the one color YOU want. Having a powder that cures at 300F will also require a longer cure time than 400F powders so it'll tie up a shops oven longer- they don't like this- An entire oven for 4 wheels. Well, I guess it depends on the shop, but most are all about throughput. And that means turning up the temp to get the product out. I guess if you got the $ any shop would do it. I talked to some local powdercoat shops before I ended up painting mine. If you're dead set on powdercoating, I'd do the same and make an educated decision based on your local shops.
