Well, finally got around to changing my oil, installing my Cobb endlinks (my Kartboy's from RCE are still MIA somewhere in North America, as well as my Defi Boost Gauge and Controller... booo!!) with my Whiteline swaybars, and finally my APS CAI.

Here are pics of the "new" ride:
CAI:

I think I'm happy with the drop. There's a bit of fender gap, but not much anymore. I may raise it just a tad, but I'm wondering if it's worth the effort since the car looks sooo good that low. We'll see....

I have plans to install my FMIC this weekend, but chances are I won't have enough time. Dave @ WBR recommends leaving 6-8 hours to do it, so that could be tight this weekend. We'll see what I can manipulate

Let the mods continue

ps. how's that for a bit of negative camber in the rear??

Also, I thought I'd throw this pic in from the car wash the other day... talk about getting steamed out. It was freezing cold (-15*C) so anytime anyone came in to the car wash bay, the steam would billow. I couldn't see my hand in front of my face...

Haha dude you should raise it a tad just so that you don't use the V-limited lip like a snow plow

Looks hot. Correct me if I'm wrong (I only started reading on page 3) but your TBE isn't installed yet, right? That looks like the stock catback.

I'd get an alignment if I was you. It does look really good sitting that low though. Dammit now you made me want coilovers for mine.

Thanks man. The 20g is going in as soon as the 07's get the AP. January-ish I guess

Hehe, yeah, I was thinking about raising it a bit for that reason. What more can a guy want? AWD, 300HP, and a snow-plow/v-limited lip

I've still got the stock exhaust on... the Cobb TBE is calling my name though. I'm resisting putting it on before getting an AP. Damn I hate not putting parts on as soon as I get them! [grrrrrrrrr]

Do it! The wheel gap on our Tribec... errr, I mean, STI's is unacceptable. RCE springs are a great option as well if you don't want to go all out on C/O's and they give a nice drop as well.

But, drop aside, the biggest handling difference has come from the sway bars without a doubt. The springs firmed things up, but the stiff RSB (I have it on "medium" stiffness) makes turn in a joke. My FSB is set on soft, so that helps too. I just need this snow to melt so I can really test my new suspension

[quote=WhyteSTI]Coilover install complete.

Oh, and by the way,
PWNED

That's what I have been waiting to see some photos of parts actually on the car!!!! NIce to see, can't wait to see more! Just pictures of parts on the floor and in box's , but seeing progress like this yahoo, so are you just waiting till the AP2 comes out before any further mods??? It must be killing you having all thoose parts sitting there well still waiting for more to come in, so you can install the rest.

Also do you have any better pictures of the car with blacked out windows??? How do the local police feel about the front windows being tinted?? Cause in B.C. I would be pulled over ten minutes after having them done.

Where did you get the BC coil overs from?? How much after shipping and the lovely duties & broker fees??

Are you driving it around in the snow?? Did some crazy driving and driffing up at Baker on Monday....so much fun

For the winter I took the front lip off and put on a Yakima rack and box on.... but have a custom Pearl White box coming from my friends over at RVinno in Japan as promo I think.

Yeah I was considering the RCE or the Prodrive springs. I don't want a huge drop... I just want it to be "level" if you know what I mean? The front wheel gap kills me but I don't wanna nail the front lip any more than I already do.

Your car is definitely looking good though. Seeing stuff like that almost makes me wish I went with the white instead of the silver. However, I did say almost

I don't right now... just the ones posted. But, the local PO don't mind the tint. I was given a ticket for front tinted windows only when I was pulled over for speeding too... took in the ass twice.

I got them from Josh @ ImportImageOnline.com. There's a vendor thread for them here. I'm not going to quote you a price since Josh does his own deals. Duty and tax can be "nullified" with proper steps

Absolutely. We've been getting load after load of snow... just see my pics above....

So, another mod update:

I installed my Cobb TBE today... I know, I know, what was I thinking... no EM yet. The call of that imagined sweet exhaust tone just wouldn't let me hold back.

I'm obviously going to be taking it easy. But at the least, having a 3" TBE with no EM will put the new '07 ECU to the test. We'll see how "multi-adaptable" it really is. If the car runs like crap, I'll just replace the stock DP.

The exhaust tone is absolutely amazing though. I couldn't be happier to be honest. It's such a deep tone at idle, and it has just a great growly rumble accelerating and cruising. It passed the gf test too It wasn't too loud or obnoxious, and there wasn't any drone cruising... she was happy hehe.

I'll have some boring pics up tomorrow. They'll be more for my record-keeping journal than anything since everyone has seen a Cobb TBE w/ a heatshield.

The modding continues... coming up next: WBR FMIC

WhyteSTI, I gotta ask... in BC, when car shopping one of the things people never buy are cars from "out East..." because presumably in Quebec and Ontario they employ abrasive salts, etc., to combat ice and snow, which accelerates the speed at which cars dissolve/rust/etc. Alberta gets a lot of snow as well, how do cars last up there? How do they treat the roads?

Whyte, just wondering...how come you decided to go with a TBE that tapers to 2.5" if you're going with the TD06 20G with the 8cm?

They don't salt the roads in Edmonton. They sand the roads here instead. There's pros and cons to both. Here, we get rock chipped paint and cracked windshields. Out East they get cars that are rusted to hell.... Personally, I'd take a rock chipped car over a rusted out car... paint and glass is an easy fix. Bodywork... not so easy.
Are you in the market for a car? If you are, go South!

Tomer, the Cobb TBE is good over 400WHP. I'm not aiming for anything beyond 400WHP so I'm quite happy with the very, very good quality of the Cobb. It's a pretty piece to look at, stealthy (keeping with the Limited theme), and will easily conform to a 20g.

To more specifically answer your question, from what I've read on the 20g w/ the 8cm housing, a miniscule taper to 2.5" isn't going to affect the benefits in top end performance. Also, going with the 8cm helps avoid boost creep.

And if I ever really feel the need to go REALLY big turbo, like GT35R+, then I'll just get a 3" flange welded in... or just go crazy and get the APS 3.5"

Oh no... what have I said...
