"TheLimitedProject" is a lame name anyway... once the ride is back I'll have to think up something a little cooler lol.

GOOD NEWS UPDATE!

The Limited is in full tear-down mode. I got a call from Rocket today and my stock engine has been pulled.

Before doing that, I had them test my stock block to see what it was doing compression and leakdown wise.

Good results on the leakdown:14-15-15-15 percent.
Decent results on the compression test as well: 145-155-155-155.

I'm heading out to Vancouver early next week for the engine break-in on the WG map. The updates and pics will follow rapidly from there.
Awsome! Good Luck with everything. Now "TP" sounds like your going to Toilet Paper a house but "The Limited Project" is a Bada55 name!

BUILD UPDATE, 4/26/08

Got an update yesterday evening on the build progress.

Yesterday, everything was in, buttoned up and ready to go. They fired up the new engine, and it started alright... BUT... a cam gear/exhaust sprocket went.

So, Monday the motor has to come out and they have to install a new gear(s).

Slight setback, but nothing catastrophic, that's for sure. The plan is for me to break in the new engine on the stock TSR70 turbo (.82a/r hotside) and do the intial dyno tuning with it to dial that in. Then Pat (tuner) will swap the monster twinscroll 1.06A/R turbine housing on and make sure it doesn't suck.

I really, really, REALLY(!!!) hope that the 1.06 A/R housing doesn't suck after all I went through getting it, but proof will be on the dyno. The problem is that it's an unknown entity since there's really only one person I know of, on NASIOC, that has posted dyno plots of the bigger housing. Unchartered territory since I'll be the 2nd TSR70 kit that's had the upgraded housing. On paper, it should kick ass... but we all know how far that goes .

More updates to come on Monday - one of the shop guys took some pics of the build-in-progress, so I'll post those up as soon as I get them.

I'll likely just chat with Pat when I see him next week for the break-in. He's got big housings, cam gears, and Autronic prototype harnesses on the mind right now .

They aren't 100% sure. They used the gear from my stock motor, so they figure it may have been over torqued when it went in again, or something was wrong with it to begin with.

I'm glad it happened on initial start up and not on the road.

Here we go....

...everything getting mocked up:

Twinscroll headers:

R5 (3.5") TBE:

I'll get an update later today on the busted cam gear. They hadn't pulled the motor yet as of this morning, so I might not be able to make if out for break-in until next week or the week after . We'll see what happens. The consolation was getting the pictures... when I got them, I couldn't wipe the big, retarded smile off my face .

I hope the hose coming off the compressor side is on there snugly enough, looks like it still has some room to go there

Looks like fun otherwise
