Yea i got the megan streets set to the fullest stiffness all around thats why i say its bumpy... never bothered tryin the 32nd setting (softest) haha. I'm more of a performance 24/7 guy rather than comfort. I'm pretty sure they'll prob ride quite nice set to the softest though... but i don't recommend slammin it on the softest. Keep a good 1-2 finger width between top of tire and fender, i've noticed that is the best looking and handling setting for reg driving... prob higher though if you have to drive through harsh conditions.

Either way your BC's should be absolutely wonderful... DNA's are aright but if i were to choose between BC's and DNA's i'd take BC's any day. MEgan just released a high spring rate race version of their coilovers... i think i might invest into the stiffer springs. I must say though good choice on choosing coilovers over springs, coilovers are sooooo fun and nice.

EDIT: Some of the millions of dyno graphs i've seen of upgraded turbo wrx's and STis runnin meth/alch/water injection had fmic's... atleast the majority... and they made significant gains! Some near 30whp increase!

Just got word that my FP TD06 (8cm^2) 20g has landed. I'm going to pull a muscle for sure in my rush down to pick it up

Coilover install complete.

A friend and I got down to business on Saturday and took our time installing the BC Sports BR coilovers.

Initial impressions:
  • Huge improvement over stock
    • Even on full soft, the feel of these coilovers are firmer (but not harsh) and much more responsive in corners that the stock setup. Having now ridden on improved suspension, I realize how ass the stock spring/struts are.
    • The stock setup is much harsher, and bumps and transferred directly into the driver. The BC coilovers are stiff, but they diffuse the bumps and don't feel harsh at all.
  • Ease of install:
    • Very easy. Everything comes assembled out of the box. The top hats are already on, the locking collars make it ridiculously easy to adjust height and spring preload.
    • The only pain in the ass is that you have to leave the back seat out to adjust dampening. I'm driving around with the seat cushion, but no back cushion right now until I can get my setting dialed in.
  • Out of the box:
    • The rears come LOW out of the box. The fronts not at all.
    • The FL and FR were at slightly different height and preload out of the box... we had to adjust them initially, and then again once we got a feel for the characteristics of the c/o.
  • Overall:
    • Full-soft is nauseating. The car moves and shakes over evey little bump. It's like being on a boat.
    • Full-hard is intense. Every little deviation in the pavement is dealt with. Not ideal either.
    • Right now, I have it on (out of 30):
      • Front: 25
      • Rear: 20
        • Feels very good. Will probably be good Auto-X settings, but a bit too firm for the street.
    • I'll probably be DD'ing at 10-15 rear, 20 front in the end.
    • Turn-in is much better, nose-dive is non-existent now, overall confidence cornering is through the roof.
Pictures (they are poor since the weather is poor ):

Oh, and by the way,
PWNED

The stock endlinks suck. My sway bar flipped and the endlinks are bent to hell. I had KB's on order from RCE, but they're lost in transit ( over 3 months now) so I think I'm going to have to pick up Cobb's endlinks since the tuner shop in Edmonton stocks them. Boo.

Teaser pic of what's to come:
That's the exhaust in the Cobb boxes...

Oh, and that box that you can barely see just might have a TD06 20g with an 8cm housing in it.

^The camera is coming along for the ride today

The front is low as hell... makes for some interesting driving going up and down driveways.
It was originally too high, so we lowered it 3/4", now it almost seems too low. We'll see.

Catted TBE

^Thanks
Today's mission is to raise the car... after driving around a bit and having the springs settle, it's riding ridiculously low. I'll have to post some pictures lol.

The other mission is to get endlinks after I made boomerangs out of my stockers.

Out of all the mods, I find suspension takes forever to get just right.... Aw well, good times.

So are you riding around on bent rear links right now? (or is the sway just floating around back there? )

Damn, this sucker is coming along quickly. I really wanna see some better pics of the white limited, I love Pearl White. I think the Pearl White that Mitsubishi used to have on their cars is beautiful.

Lol, my sway bar is just chilling in the wind, doing all of nothing.

I went down to pick up Cobb endlinks (since that's all the tuner shop stocks here) and they only had WRX EL's in... so maybe by tomorrow I'll actually have my sway bars in.
