IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | Thanks. I am not sure if there is a way to make that happen. I believe they are different dimensions. Make it happen! Yeah, I have waited quite a while on this wing. Like I said, being that is discontinued made it a real PITA. I was fortunate enough to have Ali from ESX give me a great deal on the wing (practically free with all the other stuff I got off of them. Straight off of the Long Beach GT car. Then I had to source the mounts since ESX could not find them. It has been about 6 months in total now. As for the seats, my original plan was to swap it out for track days only. We recently picked up an 07 MDX for my wife so I am now commuting in the Civic. Really, really thinking of just going all out and making it a track car. We will see. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | Well here are some pics of the finished products. First off the wing. ESX painted the carbon so he had to strip off all of the paint which was a pain along the edges. ![]() This is the finished product: ![]() ![]() ![]() I think the end result is amazing. Next up is the carbon trunk I picked up from my buddy's shop. I wanted to just paint it as I did not want a bunch of carbon. ![]() I decided to try something a little different though. I had him lay about 4 coats of a House of Colors pink over the carbon first, apply an STi logo sticker and then spray the Crystal Gray on. The results are pretty neat. You can see the carbon through the pink. Also the pink tends to have a holographic effect switching from light to dark. To be honest it is right in the color range of Cherry Blossom Red. I cannot get the pics to really show or do it justice but here is the best I could muster: |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (30) | That my friend is a great idea with the carbon fiber being in the background, then the pink on top, then paint the entier thing silver...really nice, I love it! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | I am trying my best to clear up my schedule for this weekend to do the install. At most though, I will only get the trunk on. The wing will have to wait. Also, for any of you that are considering something like this, there are two things I would possibly have tried differently. 1) Leave a bit of exposed carbon around the "STi." This would give it a more OEM look (05 anyways) as the STi badge has a black trim. 2) Used a silver carbon fiber trunk. With the silver, I could have used a candy paint instead of the paint I used. That way the carbon weave would relly stand out through the pink. Candy on the black carbon just would not have shown up that good. |
