IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | ^^^^ Yup...I'm loving the sounds it makes. Lower louder rumble than stock but not too loud. Absolutely shrieks when you get on it....my son though someone was blowing a whistle at us first time I hit it..... |

| Banned | Nice Journal BTW. I never read through your journal before for some strange reason. I especially love the track pictures (action shots). Your car has come a long way since you got it. Cant wait to see the upcoming mods, seems like you got alot coming in. Glad to see your enjoying your Genome. As soon as you said unique sound at WOT I knew what it was. The classic whistle of the Genome, gotta love it. |

![]() Edit: 4/22/07 Autox in Gainesville videos. A squealing sound that started last June has gotten worse. You can hear it in some of the left handers. Definitely a metal to metal rubbing sound. Oh well, it was good enough for 2nd place in STU with at least 7 in the class. You may have noticed a high pitched metallic squeal in a left hander in the video....I think I know where it came from: ![]() This is my front left wheel....what caused the scratch cut in the inside? I'll put it up on stands tomorrow to find out....EDIT: 5/5/07 - OK last weekend I put it up on stands and looked and looked and I can't find anything that could contact the wheel. The closest thing is the disc but I don't see how it could touch. After I rotated the tires I went out and tried to get it to rub and couldn't get it to do it. Still confused.... I guess I'll have the shop investigate during my 30k service. EDIT: 5/13/07 27,875 miles. Waxed 1/2 of the car (Driver's side) with Turtlewax ICE and the other half with Black Magic wax. I'll monitor over the weeks to come to see which performs the best. ICE Pros: 1)Clear liquid does not dry to a haze so no problem with it getting into nooks and crannies. 2) You can apply it to the entire car before wiping off. 3) You can apply it in direct sunlight. 4) Faster to apply and polish than liquid wax. 5) Fine on black plastic and rubber. ICE Cons: 1) Actually kind of hard to know if you've polished an area because since it is clear it's hard to see. 2) Can't get it on glass. I used the liquid for both. ICE is a polish and Black Magic is a wax. I've been using Black Magic wax for awhile now and really like it's durability.... Black Magic Pros: 1) Durability....water beading still after several washes. 2) Easy to see where you've waxed and wiped because of its visability. 3) OK on glass. Black Magic Cons: 1)Hazes when it dries so need to keep it out of nooks and crannies. 2) Need to apply in sections. 3) Need to apply in the shade. 4) Slower to apply than ICE. 5) Need to keep it off of rubber (this is tough because painted parts are next to rubber bits). Now for the test of time.... Last edited by KarlSTI; 05-30-2007 at 09:06 AM. | |
