Pictures:

11/15/05 - First Shots of her on the day of purchase

06/10/06 - Sonus Detail
Nice and clean... and she better be after 6 HOURS of detailing!
Thanks to the Sonus/Klasse products, she's very smooth at the moment. If you put a towel ontop of the hood, it slides right off!
It's just unfortunate how impossible it is to show in pictures because she's white.

06/11/06 - Front Lip
I threw this lip on over the weekend... it has a small crack in it, so
it will probably be replaced - at which point, i'm going to paint it a
Flat/Matte black to better match the grill and get rid of the shiny
look...

08/04/06 - Limited Edition Rota P45F Gold w/ Polished Rim
It took me a little to get used to - being they are soo bright and bling blang... i'm more into the subtle look, but these have quickly grown on me.
Very glad to be only 1 of 5 people who can rock them at the moment!

08/06/06 - Catch Cans w/ Custom OEM-style lines
Custom bracket made at the local machine shop and then cans painted to match the car!

Default V1 Hardwire

Finally got around to hardwiring my V1 this weekend! I went with a remote button and modified clock install.

I think I went with some unique ideas here that I hope many of you would agree - ended up pretty nice!

Step 1: Radar Hardwire
sorry bout the lame pics, took them at night...but usual V1 hardwire, so not much to look at!

I opted to run the wire straight down from the liner rather then through the mirror-molding, due to the fact that it would likely block the front sensor, or be more visible from the outside - but I may switch it up.

Step 2: Remote Display

1. One of the huge flaws IMO of the remote display is the fact that it uses all red LED's - which are fairly impossibly to distinguish between, especially at night! So I modified the display to display different LED colors for each Radar band (Blue for Laser, Red for Ka, Orange for K, and Green for X). I also modified the strength meter go from green to red based on signal strength

2. I really liked the idea of putting the V1 remote display where the clock is, but in all the installs I’ve seen done here, everyone removed the clock in order to fit it. Once i opened it up, I figured that if i could modify the piece that holds the clock in, i could actually fit the V1 remote display in WITHOUT removing the clock and airbag sensor. And thanks to my dremel, it was a perfect fit!

* Note *

The V1 remote is currently held in with only some tape, so that's why it looks a bit awkward. I also still have to fabricate a cover out of tinted plastic to gift it a nice hidden and OEM look. When I take the clock unit out again to install the plastic, i'll be using a different method of securing the remote display in that should straighten it out perfectly.

Here's a few videos of the startup:

Engine Start

Close AUX Start

Step 3: Mute/Mode Button

I originally wanted to put it near the DCCD switches, but after some thoughts (and desire for originality) - I liked this spot much more!

The button was a simple momentary pushbutton switch that I picked up at radioshack - and after threading it through the bottom of a perfectly sized hole, makes quite an attractive button!
