New set of wheels/tires on the car
Enkei RPF-1 17x8.5 et40 only 16lbs

With Falken 255/40/17 rt615's

Rears rubb a little bit on the outside edge over big bumps...Considering the suspension and alignment is completly stock thats pretty good. .25 of neg camber will fix it. More ics thiss weekend.

So I spent the whole day with my car...Well almost...And I have the sunburn to prove it...Ouch!
6 Hrs in the sun for a shirtless fat white guy is a BAD idea.
Ok, so heres what I accomplished today. I was too burned to wash the car and take pics of the camber and wheels but I did do a few other things.
First, a few shots in comparison for the wheels/tires compared to stock.
Just to give you a idea of how wide these baby's are

And a shot for height

Turns ut I also weighed the stock wheel and tire and 1 of the Enkeis with the tire.
The stock 17x8 BBS and 225 45 17 RE070 weighs 46.8lbs
The 17x8.5 RPF-1 and 255 40 17 RT615 weighs 43.6lbs
3.2lbs of weight savings over stock, add the .2lbs per corner I saved with the Kyokugen lugs and you have almost 3.5lbs of unsprung weight gone all while having a amount of grip that makes "rides like its on rails" sound like sarcasm.
I am very pleased with the result

Next, on to the good stuff. As some may know (cause I mentioned it) my first trip to the track resulted in a broken pitch mount. I considered many alternatives, ordered upgraded engine and trans mounts but have still been undecided on a pitch mount. Little did I know the answer sat in my driveway...

I have a 93 legacy turbo sitting in my driveway that awaits donor parts from the STi to become road worthy again (A good way of saving the stock parts)
The pitch mount in that car is steel and the bushing hard as rocks..Sold. That will be 0 cents please. I will have my friend warranty the broken one from my car and put that in the legacy and all is good.

Last but not least...
I did a few mods as well..
Had a Intake system I was workin on back in the day to mass produce, It was almost done and never made it to completion, but here it sits in my garage...Along with a 3" catless downpipe and invidia cat-back..
Well lets bolt that al on and shave some weight while we are at it!
Heres the intake...

Piping diameter is slightly larger than stock maf, not by much and the filter is stainless (wrap was already there and I dont remember why, Ill take it off later my sunburn hurts)
I got weight crazy too, stock intake parts weigh...
Intake silencer 2lbs
Air box w filter 3lbs
Cold air part of intake 1.4lbs
The New intake is 1.3lbs
Stock downpipe is 23.2lbs
New one is 8.4lbs
Stock cat-back is 32.4lbs
New one is 10.2lbs
I also removed the spare, jack tools and various little metal things I think dont matter...
Overall the mods and exchanged parts along with the wheel change has saved 118.2lbs on the car overall, I haven't even scratched the surface yet...I know of at least 200lbs more I can shave...Just wait and see

OK, Now she's clean...
I figured washing it by hand would help with my biggest lightweight mod...My fat gut
With just 1.8-1.9 degrees negative in the back when fully compressed I was getting over 1mm of space from the rear quarter to the tire. Plenty of room, I am currently at 2.5 negative all around

I would be positive a 18x8 et40 would fit. I will most likely be ordering some 17x9's next et35 and getting them sprayed the same color as the car and run the 255's on them.

Even with all this amber from bolts alone there is tons of room for a wider wheel on both sides. I cant wait to get the cusco stuff and see how much more room I get.

More parts in today...
First a little more weight reduction.
So far I have shaved off 120.2lbs, Today I took off another 26.2 for a grand total of 146.4lbs shaved off...
I basically took off this.

And added this.

This will make 1 of several dozen cars I removed that big brace from over the years...I dont see a difference in rigidity, Although it may affect the vehicles front collision strength ad I wont deny that.
I also recieved my Kartboy short shifter and front and rear shifter bushings that I ordered along with the Tic linkage bushings...I put everything in except for the linkage bushings. I noticed that they did ot fit tight in the places they were designed to go compared to the stock bushings and did not like the play they left. So I decided to not use them.

All thats left for this week is the motor and tranny mounts...Next week wll most likely be UTEC, DTEC and tuner...

Ok, so I messed with the car a little more this week. Nothing crazy, been busy at work with the other manager on vacation so I having been feeling up to doing anything major...
So..
Added a kenwood CD player, My buddy at Pioneer said he wont be able to ship me a AVIC Z1 till he fills pre-orders and I need MP3 capability so I put this in for now. I have some MB quart Q series on teh way for the doors and need to decide on a amp, not sure if I want the weight of a sub yet.

A little rice, Arospeed XCS. Figured with the tiny odyssey battery it cant hurt, I just need to finish my custom mount for the battery, then I'll add those pics.

My steering wheel, That I went to put in and then couldn't find my damn Tamper proof torques set. I've bought 3 of these damn sets and always manage to loose them.

Spent the rest of the day on the other cars...First time the 3 subies are next to each other...Play nice kids...

06sti, 93 legacy L with every bolt on, 93 legacy sport turbo in progress
Random "Fat Tire" shot for good measure.
