haha no, i just had a local muffler shop fab it... in the first pic the piping looks all deformed because of the bender the shop used... It is very loud and I don't think it will stay on for very long as there are tons of cops around my area. The sound is absolutely amazing though, when you get on the gas it sounds like a bat out of hell.... It was actually a joke at first because a few of my friends were just bored one day and had it fabbed just for kicks but it actually turned out to be pretty cool. Plus, to swap it for the stock axleback, it takes 5 mins tops. Last edited by cuzitsmyusofwtvr; 05-26-2006 at 10:05 AM. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | update: 5/25/06 well its been awhile since i updated my journal so... (sorry the post is kinda long) ordered the jdm sti sport muffler from japanparts.com. Unfortunetely my credit card will not verify despite having attempting three tries to order it. I have no idea why it will not verify, something to do with the information (which is all correct and doublechecked a bunch of times) not being accepted byt he credit card. Well decided to ditch japanparts.com because i didnt want to deal with a bunch of credit card bs. Today I just ordered it through race comp engineering, yay! The bad part is it won't be here for atleast a month , but i kinda expected it would take that long since it has to come all the way from japan, then get shipped to my house from the maryland. My plan is to then mate this with the prodrive midpipe once i recover from this $$850 axle back! BTW if anybody has a prodrive midpipe for sale.. let me know. Next mod will hopefull be either a syms replica wing from paperchasin or the KB short shifter + bushings. Kinda leaning toward the syms wing because for a short time they are only $375 and i really don't want to pay the $450+ that they usually are. By the end of the summer I also plan to get a defi boost gauge + a braille battery.A little over a month ago I went to my first autocross... totally fun and addicting. I have been so busy lately that I have not been able to go again and its killing me . I did alright for a first timer, but had a couple DNF's.... oops. I hope to start going atleast once per month and I am going to try to go to a thunderhill driving class sometime during the summer months. For now, I am just planning on running in the stock class until I get real serious (and get some experience). I gotta check the rule book to see if they allow the SS in the stock class... which i dont think they do, maybe somebody can chime in on that one.lastly, been working on a website which I hope to have up soon (see sig)..... First time making a website so its a little rough, but it will be cool when its done. A couple friends and I would like to get some sweatshirts made up and offer them through the website, but that wouldn't happen till later this year. We are also thinking about making a batch of bolt on straight pipes (that replace the axle back) in 2.5" and possibly 3" depending on which one would have a greater demand. See first post for pics of the first one I had fabbed. If I were to make a few they would all be mendrel bent that way there are no ugly kinks like the one in the first post. I am going to do a little research to see what they would cost to make, etc... Last edited by cuzitsmyusofwtvr; 05-25-2006 at 04:46 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | update 6/9 Another random update with a few pics... went to my second autox last weekend @ san francisco at monster park or whatever it is called. Had a blast as usual and did pretty good. Came in first in novice stock but i was only about a 1/2 second off the fastest stock sti that was running in the regular stock class. Did a couple fun runs in the afternoon and deffinetelty matched if not surpassed the best stock sti time from earlier in the day. I think next autox I will be running in the regular stock category as I think I will be pretty competitive although those darn s2000's are deadly in the hands of a good driver.... they are impossible to beat it seems like. anyways here are some pics courtesy of Mark Mervich: 1) me.... ![]() 2) my friend in his 02' wrx... ![]() 3) had to include this cool one of this ferrari 355 challenge car... you have got to hear one of these at redline, the sound is simply amazing.... |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | Beautiful car! It was you that I saw at monster park. I saw the iwsti sticker so I posted asking who it was in the norcal section. You should definitely do some suspension mods and come run in STU with me. Always good to have more competition. Or just run it stock in STU. That's what I did for a while. Well hope to see you at the next event! Karlton(06 grey sti #179) |
