joining the stage 2 club

first off, many thanks to members chudlo and nater for helping me out and getting me started with my 04 as well as christina and damen for infecting me with the upgrade bug.

i'll try to keep this updated as much as possible with pics.

to begin, last night a suspicious black hole opened up in my bank account and several packages were suddenly shipped in my general direction. a generous contribution of a downpipe from chudlo rounds out a shipment order containing a maddad 3' whisper exhaust and a cobb ap. beceause i'm impatient 2nd day shipping was selected so within the week expect pictures of the install.

good news. the cobb ap arrived today thanks to the rush shipping from hotsubarus.com and i will be installing it tonight or tomorrow with nater.
down pipe is sitting at chad's house so the only thing i'm missing is the maddad exhaust which hasn't even been shipped yet. this really sucks b/c i plopped down almost $200 to have it expressed shipped so it would be done this weekend. sent them a few emails asking about it, since they promised 24 processing and they received payment on the 10th but haven't heard anything back so their customer service really is lagging.
now i'll be sitting on the parts waiting for them to refund cancel payment so i can pick up a different exhaust.
i'm looking for an hks exhaust so if anyone knows a company that can overnight it drop me a line.
edit: The flange I need to exhaust to hook up to is not the factory style one.

allright, the AP arrived at noon today and is going to be hooked up tomorrow. rich at maddad informed me that they are having supply problems with their exhaust manufacturer so he is going to get back to me tomorrow if he can have it delivered or not. crap luck eh?

well no word from the maddad people so we went ahead and installed what we could. the first item was the cobb ap flashed for stage 1. finishing that up and using the butt dyno a bit of improvement was noted, nothing truly amazing though. boredom began to gnaw at me so we dusted off an aps bov and mounted it; only problem was that nate forget to tell me not to pull quite so hard on the vacuum line. oops.
after reconnecting both ends and with some wd40 we worked the bov on took a walk around the block to test for leakage or engine problems.
so far everything went well and now i'm waiting for a box or a refund.

still no word from maddad so full move to stage 2 is just a few days away. nater is going to post up the pics sometime tonight or tomorrow of the install and the taillight swap we did between his 06 and my 04.

good news. rich with the maddad was able to source me a complete catback and is going to have it overnighted on monday so i might be able to get installed before wednesday. *crossing fingers...

So here are the pics that Johnny took with his cell phone. Also included are pics of the taillight swap... My 06 tails look great on his 04, and I am totally in love my "new" tails...

Installing stage 1... Thank god Johnny is smaller than me, I could have never gotten under the dash for those green connectors.

Next up was APS time... Next time Johnny, dont remove the entire hose!

Next up was the taillight swap. First, some stock pics... Bonus points for IDing the car in my garage...

They are so pretty just sitting there...
