Thats odd. Do they look more dark and gunmetal like in real life, because they look more like silver in the pictures. I want these wheels myself, but Im just concerned about the color.

These wheels are definately on the dark side. They're at least a few shades darker than the Volks (Titanium Gunmetal), which I thought were too dark when I first put them on the car a few years back. However, I got used to them.

They may look lighter because I used the flash in 90% of the pics. I'll see if I can get some decent shots without the flash and in direct sunlight.

do you have camber bolts in the rear?

it's interesting you're having rubbing issues in the back like that.

is anything bent back there?

Thanks for the reply I was actually just about to PM you. No camber bolts, but I did get an alignment after I installed the pinks to compensate for them being slightly lower. It was about 3 years ago so I can't remember the exact amount but I want to say its in between -.5 and -1 degrees.

I also was thinking that somthing may be bent, I'm going to try fitting it to the other side and see what happens. I'll report back with the findings. Thanks again.

your rears should be at -1.5 or so with the Pinks.

keep me posted how things turn out.

My **** alignment (the rears weren't even touched) resulted in -1.3 and -1.8 in the rear, FWIW. JDM Pinks...

Ok I switched the wheel to the other side and its the exact same story. Here's a few pics:

Wheel resting against the strut

A different angle

Rough estimate of how big of a spacer I need

18x8.5 +44 CE28N clearance. (Its about a 1 finger length gap between the strut and tire)

This is strange as I've seen 05+ STi's and WRX's fit these wheels in the back without any issues. I've even seen a few 03 WRX's with wheels with the same size/offset and also did not need spacers. However all those cars had coilovers and I'm still on the stock struts. I thought it may have something to do with the 04 STi's narrower rear track but I feel that may be a moot point.

Hopefully this situation will change after I pick up some coilovers. I'm leaning towards some TiC's or Zzyzx's (more rear clearance Yay!). Anyways thanks in advance for the help Clap, you'll probably be hearing from me again when its time to buy tires.

You also had a decent alignment. I'm sure with the play in the bolts they could get mine closer together... but they didn't even try.

hmm need to find out what camber you're running.

mount up your stock wheels, i'm curious how close that is to the strut with the 225.

the TiC's are not clearance friendly.

most coilovers are wider than the stock struts in the front and rear.

the rear you can do the camber bolt/plate trick and gain some clearance (and still get your "total" camber you're looking for).

another thing to do would be to find a WRX owner or another STi owner willing to test.

slap on the BBS's i'm curious on the clearance with those.

also what is your clearance to your trailing arm?

nojeebs on nasioc has these wheels, should hit him up. (05 tho)a few 04's just got the sizing.. caltri-boost i think to... my 17x9 +39 effective (rear) have no issues with 255's, but i did use a 5mm spacer since i had to run a 10mm in front . you should check out stance coilovers, they are good and are good for clearence. (f/r camber plates) in any case...17x9 ftw the gunmetal is so nice. i love how mine look in different lights

I wish I could find the printout from my alignment. I, like you, wasn't exactly pleased with the results, especially from a shop that was hyped as being one of the best.

Will do. I'll throw the stockers on tomorrow and post pics. I'll see if I can get my car on the alignment rack at work. They just got a brand-new Hunter "HawkEye" rack. However, the sensors that go on the wheels are specially designed to work with BMW OEM wheels, so I dunno if it'll work with mine but I'll check.

Yea I saw pics of his car in the Agressive Wheel thread over on nabisco. I'll have to drop both of them PM's. And yea I love gunmetal, one of the best wheel colors IMO.

If your looking at quality coil overs like you mentioned before Look at the V3's and the T2's along with the ZZyzx's and get them with rear plates.
