Definetely upgrade your fuel pump with the mods you have now before a pro tune.

^He already has the Walbro fuel pump that is going to be installed later on before the tune.

Thanks Bill, I have been trying to tell him to do the TGV deletes, he spends sooo much on a headunit, whats another $200?!?!?!?

Here Steve, simply search in the engine threads:

Actually, after seeing a lot of data across the boards, it doesn't appear to be a huge difference. However, all the little stuff adds up. Additionally, it depends on what you consider to be a worthwhile difference. On a rotated turbo setup running some nice boost, the deletes will probably give you a great bang for the buck. On the stock Turbo ... not so much.

From this thread: TGV deletes

Like T said, is it worth it on a stock turbo, not so much, but since your in there doing the turbo inlet, why the HELL NOT?! Like T also says, every lil mod helps.

TGV Deletes will not do much with the stock turbo, and I never tell enthusiasts to get them unless they plan on going bigger down the road. If your intention is to do an upgraded turbo, and you are going to be doing an inlet hose, then you might as well throw the TGV's in there as well.

Your biggest benefit, after adding the parts that you have added, is getting tuned. Even at Stage II, you will notice a tremendous difference in spool-up and over all feel. The power band will be much more linear and transitions between gears will feel much better.

^My thoughts exactly, he is planning on going with a Deadbolt 20g or a SZ49 later down the road, thats why I am telling him so much to go for the TGV deletes now when he does his turbo inlet tube, why do things twice? I need to get my parts all ordered and installed so I can have you tune my beast Chris!!!

Well, after a longer then expected installation of the Shift boots from RedLineGoods, I have some pictures to show. The Shifter and Armrest were about a 5 on difficulty, but the e-brake was about an 8. Chris will agree on that one. Well, too much talk and not enough pictures. Here you are.

So, it's been a while and I figured I would give you some updates. I ordered a bunch of things for the car in advance of the 2 major things you will hear about below. I ordered the Perrin Turbo inlet tube in Red and the TGV deletes.

Now for the interesting things. I am going to be getting the SZ-49 turbo internally wastegated when I have the money available but the issue I had was getting a FMIC that would flow enough to support the turbo and still be able to retain the stock bumper beam. I found this company on NASIOC that makes custom FMIC kits for the Subaru's. They make great fitment, good quality and comes with all parts needed kits. I was going back and forth with him about this and may of found a solution for it. He was able to locate a 6" High core that is 4.5-5" deep core that flows 800CFM. That being said he will be ordering a test unit for fitment on his car and if it fits without mounting issues, I will be sporting this kit with the SZ-49. I also forgot to mention that this kit is the reverse flow counter-clockwise and uses the front hole in the firewall so all CAI will work.

A little about this company: CSS Performance Intercoolers

Located in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia CSS performance strives to offer the best prices, service, and parts possible. We always work toward innovation and and meeting the needs of our customers. Our specialty and custom items are designed with the customer in mind. At CSS we have always found one thing to be true. An enthusiast projects are never finished, they just pause briefly in interesting places.

These are some of the current kits he sells....not mine...

Does that ^^^ kit retain the stock bumper beam? Looks like the piece that runs across the top replaces it, like the TXS unit. Not sure, but the core looks smallish IMO, maybe it's just the pic.
For the SZ49, the TXS unit seems to be the perfect size.

About time you swapped turbos!

Thats what I was telling Steve, but Jerry at Deadbolt says that FMIC will work fine with the SZ49, Steve said the FMIC was like 6 inches tall or something, thats mad small, but thick. I still think this will heatsoak more than a FMIC with more surface area.

We will see, the fitment of the core will determine if I do anything or not. If the core is not going to fit, I may not do the turbo at all, at least for now.

So, this week I received more of what I will need for the new setup....Which is still a while out. Depending on my financial situation will determine if it is done anytime in the near future. If it will not be financially ready, it will be a great boost to the Stage 2 Protune. Got some great deals, so how can you pass up. A special thanks to Harmon Motive for the great service and great shipping on the TGV Deletes. And how could I pass up a great deal on the Perrin Turbo Inlet brand new.
