After reading thru A LOT of those threads, I personally have come to the conclusion that a 5 point harness would be extremely unsafe because it does not let your body slouch in the event of roof cave in, but some of the four point setups are better than the stock seat belts, this would include the VERY fine Shroth setup. I'm sure there will be some who disagree....but this is MY OPINION.

Well it really has more to do with the mounting points of the actual harness. When you mount the harness in the back you are either mounting it to the back seat area, or to the bottom of the drivers seat. You now just changed I guess what I would call a pivot point. When you in a front end collision you body is going to want to go forward. Also if its severe enought the stock seat is probably going to want to break. Anyway the stock seatbelt will prevent you from moving forward. Its like someone holding a hand in front of you because the seatbelt is mounted on the top pillar. Now when you have the harness and your in an accident the harness is going to want to pull you down instead of preventing you from moving forward. So now you have pressure on your shoulders pushing down on your body which if severe enough could break your back.

Now if the harness is mounted up high like on a harness bar or roll cage thats a different story. Its when you bolt it down to the seat or the back seats that it becomes more dangrous.

I think the major issue is that if they are used in professional cars going 200MPH, I think they can be used in Daily Drivers....I feel it is safe, but I am going back and forth with them to see which i like more.

why do you think it feels safe, because you cant move around freely when its on?? Do you not understand physics? Whatever floats your boat, just be carefull.

I always thought the issue with 4 points or more was in cars without cages. If you roll the 3 point would allow your body to move to the side somewhat, where the 4 point would not. But I might just be talking nonsense.

Rainguards do look hot!!!! Funny it only took me <10mins on your car since I did mine first......lucky, took me 20mins for one side then 8 for the other on my car.....Any wind noise on the highways yet Steve?
