Default Late night wash

My neighbors know that I have the strange habit of washing the car at night. I have to wait till the sun goes down to wash it because I don't have any shady areas around. Here are the latest results:

I've waxed it about three times in the six months that I've had it . The longest lasting being the Meguiars Deep Crystal 3-step: cleaner, polish, carnuba wax. Strangely enough, I recently started using a real sheep skin wash mitt and it seemed to enhance the finish and make the water bead even more.

+1 for the sheep skin mitts. I love mine, I can't believe I used to use a crappy sponge on my talons. You can just feel that it is nicer on your paint.

The only thing I had to get used to when I'm using the sheepskin is that it's sort of like washing the car with a wet and dead furry animal--not that I know what that really feels like !

WOW, those reflection pictures are incredible..... taken 2 weeks after a coat of Meguiars NXT Tech Wax? WOW!

I never got into all the Meguiar's NXT stuff, but i'm definitely going to pick some NXT Tech Wax up.

The only thing I don't like about the NXT is that it doesn't last very long and that was confirmed in a recent issue of Consumer Reports. The water just stopped beading after awhile. It's not an issue if you keep re-applying it which I will do until it runs out, but I'm thinking of trying one of CR's recommedations:

I might try one of the sprays after each wash to help maintain the finish. Like I said, the Meguairs 3-step seems to last a really long time.

Thanks for posting that! I'm going to try that Black Magic Wet Shine Liquid Wax.
