It did pretty well.

I wanted to go with the 'true' RB320 setup, so I picked up a 21/22/23 (IIRC) Cusco RSB. I had it on the stiffest setting. I also went with their recommended alignment settings: -1.4 Camber in the front, and -1.1 in the rear. It wasn't enough.

In the morning it was great! The car felt neutral, and would actually turn when I turned the steering wheel. Coming from OE suspension this is huge. NO understeer. I was loving it. I was driving the car hard, so I thought I'd close the first session early.

As the day got warmer things got worse. I think in the morning during the first session, when the track was cool, the outside shoulders of the tire (because it was rolling into +camber) were able to hold the car just enough; as the day got warmer the shoulders just couldn't take the heat from the corners or the track. I felt like I was on a layer of grease. It was equally greasy front and rear.

I recommend camber plates, and a slightly larger front sway (I'll probably go with Cusco's FSB).

I know that greasy understeer feeling (on the street, no less ). I'm going to step my front sway up a tick to see if it helps in the spring.

But like I said it was equally 'greasy'. It wasn't necessarily understeering. "It was equally greasy front and rear."

front sways help maintain camber.

get a big one if you plan on staying on springs/struts.

Oh...weird... so the tires were also part of the problem (in addition to your camber)? Did the 615s feel better on the track?

Mine is definitely the fronts scrubbing like they are greasy (my sways are set equal to 24F/24R right now).

The tires were part of the problem only because they were rolling over into +camber. If I had enough -camber dialed in it would have been a BIG difference in handling (a lot better).

Ya, the 615s had the same feeling, but because it was on OE suspension it was strictly greasy up front (understeer). In this case (with the RBs on 01r 245s) I was able to get the whole car to wiggle once the tires were heated and running on the outside shoulder do to the +camber rollover.

As far as the sways, I definitely need one up front to maintain the -camber under load (as Clap said). I wonder now what would have happened had I set the RSB to a softer setting? I'm thinking I'd get more dynamic +camber in the rear, and as you can see in the last pic, I DON'T need more +camber in the rear . What I'm wondering is how the softer RSB setting would effect the front?

Are you on the stock RE070s? Those tires get greasy when track temps are high. They are good for a good number of laps and have great sidewalls but don't hold up in the long run. Nice shots BTW!

agreed!

another rule of thumb for our cars is have a degree stagger b/t the front and rear wheels like -2 front and -1 rear. That worked the best for me.

Also nice pics.. i envy you!!!

That gets into weight transfer and rotation and all of that is over my head
