Agreed. I am re-thinking the purchase of my 070 take-offs.

just a rough/quick comparison:

-the 01Rs @ 245/40 have ~.75" more tread (wider) than the 070s @ 225/45.
-the new 01Rs are about the same diameter as the worn (at the wear bars) 070s.
-the 01Rs are noticeably heavier than the 070s (obviously the size of the 01R, and the wear of the 070s contribute to this)

I will be mounting them early next week at the latest. I will try to do a review on them, but it will be tough to compare 225s vs. 245s.

You still have 070s to compare to? Or are you comparing to the 615s?

I has 1 set of worn 070s (in the garage), 1 set of worn 615s (on the car), and 1 new set of 01Rs.

I was comparing the 01Rs to the 070s.

both sets of old tires will be put in the garage. they are both at the wear bars so they still have a track day or two in each set (even though they are 225 ).

Welp, chalk another one up for the body work on my car... AGAIN, someone nailed my car... This time in a rear end collision.

My best guess is that she was going ~10mph. I didn't see her 'til I heard/felt it. It was a pretty hard hit...

My GF was in the car with me, and had whiplash, as did I, but hers didn't go away.

As for the car, I was REALLY surpised at the lack of damage... I mean, she hit me hard. I expected my CF trunk to be in shreds, and my bumper to be pushed in about a foot. Nope. One crease across the right side of the license plate area of the bumper, and one gouge out of the plastic/paint on the bumper. The licence plate, and frame also got ****ered up. The exhaust made it out just fine.

Just what I needed at the end of a busy day. My car rearended, and my GF's neck in pain.

This is the 4th time someone has F'd my car up enough to go into the body shop. No mechanical/structural damage, luckily.

I've never been rear ended before. It sucks, and hurts. I thought all the recipients of rear end collisions who had sued were wimps... Not so much now.

Fetch me my Winchester. I have some frontier justice to dispense.

Sorry to hear, Garry. Is it already in the shop? Any idea how long it'll be gone? Is the GF going to t3h quackapractor for an examination?

Damn, that sucks!

I'm glad your freshly painted trunk and wing made it out ok though.
