IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I have Maddad headers/up pipe on the way. The APS CAI as seen above is here, but a new filter is on the way. Prodrive boost solenoid, Heat wrap and spray for the headers, spark plugs, Fuel pump and a tune this a bit further down the road when it warms up. ![]() Oh and new Falken Azenis just before summer. IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | They said it couldn't be done on an 06. Call it luck, call it ingenuity. I would call it fiddling, but I got it to fit with no cutting. If you have no idea what I am referring to. You need to go here: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/engine-p...-write-up.html There was some talk about the RU-3130 K&N filter not working in a 06/07 body style as well as the Amsoil equivalent replacement #EaAU3570. As we know the replacement K&N filter as well as the Amsoil "sister" filter are a bit bigger than the one that comes stock with the APS CAI (as seen in my post here.) My trick was to get the intake into the fender, but not bolt it up yet. I slipped in the filter and tightened it down with the provided clamp, then went to work making it fit. Yes it is a bit tight, but nothing is warped and there are no fitment problems. I had to fiddle a little bit with the provided bracket for the filter, but with some patients and moving things around a bit.. it works. Now I just have to fab up the last bracket to hold the hoses just behind the MAF and get my fender plug back in. That will most likely be done tomorrow. (Note: These pics were taken before I had everything put back together so it looks like I am missing a few bolts.) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Took it for a ride. No rattles and the filter is still tight on there. It is a bit louder than I was anticipating, but I dont have any complaints so far. Update 4/24/08: Finished pic with the newly fabricated hardware and fender plug. ![]() And a Dirty Engine bay. Still needs to be cleaned up from this past winter. IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Little update. I put my V-Limited replica on for our FL trip (leaving tomorrow woo hoo!) I painted the lip to match the old one. Semi gloss black with about 3 coats of clear. I didnt sand it because I like the rough orange peal look on the lip. The rubber DIY underskirt was also installed. I only used the double sided tape to secure it and it lasted a monster 3 days. It was a problem I knew I was going to have as I didnt purchase the hard rubber piece because all they had was the softer "foam rubber" type. I was annoyed, but laughed at the same time. I dont have time to replace it before we head off on vacation, so it will have to wait until we get back. I ordered 2 hard rubber pieces from Ebay as I couldnt find them anywhere else. Pics to come when everything is installed and warms up a bit. Also all my power pieces are hear with the exception of the headers. Rich from Maddad is away for this week and nothing will be shipped out. I assume they will show up when I am gone next week. Lots of updates to come. Stay tuned. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Quick update. Parts are either here or on their way. The last thing I have to get before my tune is my spark plugs. I will be ordering them soon. Headers are supposed to be here today. I had an issue on my trip to FL. I hit a piece of tire from a truck on the highway at about 80mph and it shattered part of my passenger side fender liner. It scared the living crap out of us when it happend. I thought I lost the front lip, but turned out it was just the front part of the fender liner. I called the dealer today and I can get a whole fender liner for $30. Made sure to confirm on subarugenuineparts.com what I was getting and should be here on friday. At least it was an easy/cheap fix Parts will all be going in as soon as it warms up and be looking for a tune in either April or may. I have weighed my options and I think it is going to be a street tune in Buffalo. I would like to have the Dyno numbers, but would have to travel quite a distance to get to a dyno. Im sure the road tune will be fine and I am really looking forward to the new power Parts so far: APS CAI - Rejuvinated with an Amsoil filter - already installed Prodrive Boost Solenoid - In a box ready for install Walbro Fuel Pump - in a box ready for install Heat wrap and coating - in a box ready for install Maddad headers and up pipe - currently in transit V-Limited replica - Painted and installed Rubber DIY underlip - in a box ready for install Cobb Sticker for the lip - in transit from Nasioc Need to pick up a plug for the EGT bung on the headers, some ties for the heat wrap and order some Falken Azenis when I get my bonus check. Things are going to plan and there will be many pics along the way. I may get some this weekend of the parts. Mike at Innovative Tuning - Ill see you soon |

I actually was going to go with the Gruppe-S headers, but after reviewing some posts and going off of Wolf's suggestion as well as the fact they come with an up pipe. So time will tell. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Another short update. Dont worry! These are all leading up to something bigger! Replaced my passenger side fender liner from the FL trip. Also pulled the front lip off and redid the rubber under lip with the hard rubber version. Much better. I also picked up my Walbro pump this weekend. That is ready to go in soon. Lastly I located an NPT plug for the headers. Just waiting on my snap straps to get them wrapped. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | It is a PS of the S204. Closest thing I could find with the V-limited to see what my car would look like. ![]() ![]() Yes it fits with a bit of fiddling. There is also the K&N replacement that fits as discussed in the APS CAI rejuvenation thread. Last edited by fourseasonsandles; 03-07-2008 at 09:36 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Yes, yes it was! This was my first time wrapping, so I did some research as well as followed the supplied directions. The longer pipes werent too bad, but doing the shorter ones were an effing PIA. Took me about an hour and 1/2. I watch the fast and furious while I did them ![]() I hoped no one would bash my first time wrapping! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad.
