You are so right on every point.
I drove past my first cop car a bit ago and I am a bit young looking(17ish even) and that cop's stare could have burned a hole through my face. Many many looks from them to date.

This break in is killing me as well...at 550 miles atleast I have figured out how to pull the shift at exactly 4000 but minivans still pull me from stop lights because of all this shifting!

Congratulations on the car and remember controlling yourself now will pay off sooo much later!(<--- I have to tell myself this like 10 times whenever i get into the car)

Thanks Brian,

It has been a long time waiting to get a Subaru period. But finding the right job to stick with and saving for 8 months paid off in the end!

^^^Uhm, sounds are good, but if you don't want to hear the sound of crunching metal GET THOSE TIRES CHANGED, STAT.

Congratulations on the new car. That's the first CGM '06 I've seen, and I have to say it is still the best color.

As for cops, tailgaters in pickup trucks, and people wanting to race: I feel (past tense) your pain and made some changes to mine, namely a wing-ectomy. Life definitely got simpler after that.

Under 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles, no cruise and change the oil between 500-1000 miles. It is hell, but once it is unleashed you can't believe what you got yourself into!! It tells you what you should do in the manual and/or if you run a search on this site.

It's happened. I have been bitten by the mod bug. It hasnt bitten me hard yet.. just a nibble. But I used the money I had left over from my paying the sales tax on my car to order some '05 spec GF210s. They should be here by next weekend in time for me to get home from IL.

SO... after all is said and done I'll finally get some pics of my finished stereo and the drop from the springs.

I mean...what you posted is ok, but not necesarily true.

everyone has different opinions on break in... Some people will tell you to drive it how you will be driving it normally, others will tell you to not go over 4k rpms...

Ive driven the car hard from the first few hundred miles and no issues to this day...

My main reasoning was the fact that my sti had 108 miles when I picked it up so... I knew someone already had alittle fun in it. I know when I went to go test drive another sti at ANOTHER dealer, the sales man told me to do what I wanted..and I did, I redlined every gear

I agree that there probably more than one way to break in the car. Dont quote me on this, but I either read it in the manual, was told by the dealer and took advice from this site on the break in. I chose what I thought would be the best for the car. It may or may not be the best and I am not one with enough knowledge to argue, but he asked me and I told him what I was told and what I did... That is my bases for my answer..

otherwise... I am always right, all of you are always wrong.. do you like that answer better
