You will be the first in line for it when I put the SZ55.

Tonite!!!! Going to Kiwi Ian's to install all the rest of the crap for the headliner that was just recently wrapped in black suede, then installing the cage back together, then spark plugs and compression test, and finally a coolant flush. I should be set for Limerock next week, can't freaking wait!

140 compression test across the board...EVEN! This was using an "ok" compression tester, so it would have been higher maybe with the better one Ian has at the dealership. Spark plugs were white, but very clean, no gunk, nada. Cage is in, along with the sweet headliner wrapped in black suede....writeup on Installations Unlimeted and the Headerliner to come once I get the trim pieces painted black. All fluids are on the money, Amsoil Oil is still a lil above full, so we are all good to go for Limerock!!!! I have to thank Ian for all his help and work....I wouldn't be where I am without him!! Thanks Kiwi!

Alright, heres the update.

Went to Lime Rock Park, CT on June 22nd and 23rd with Steve, Jake, and Alex. Had an awesome time. Friday, I just watched Jake run, and got some shotgun rides in instructor's cars (Thanks Tim, your an animal on the track!!). Tim's car only has R-Compounds, Upgraded brake pads, lines, and fluids, with a SPT short ram and Cobb Stg1 flash....his car is soo crazy on the track, if your not bracing yourself in the seat, it will throw you all over the place. The amount of stopping power and grip is insane! R-Compounds for the track FTW!

Jake did an amazing job driving, his skills from last year to this past weekend really improved by a lot! Lets just say he uses his brakes and now has Brown Brembos in the front!

Steve did a great job driving on Saturday. Really proud of him, he handled the car well, and controlled it throughout the day. He will def be bumped up into Intermediate 1 Run Group for sure. The setup with his 245's and sway bars/springs really helped him control the car.

As for me, Saturday I participated in running my car. I ran pretty well. My instructor said that I have improved from last year, and he said the car def feels quicker and more controlled than it did last year. I let him take her out for 2 laps in the first session to get a feel for my car, so this way he could point me out some tweaks in driving. He was like WOW, this car is fun to drive, man its got soo much tq. He drives a Miata with just about everything done to the suspension and brakes, but nothing really done to the motor, so jumping in an STi after his Miata is a big difference. His car hooks like crazy though!
I was taking the apexes at better speeds this year, but my focus was more on perfecting my line than seeing how fast/hard I could push my car. The rumble strips really got some action from me.
During the 3rd session, I noticed my temp gauge above the third tick mark. After a bunch of laps, I notice it rise a lil from its previous position. The session ended, and I went into the paddock to drop off my instructor. As I started to drive 2-5mph to my pitts area, I noticed my temp gauge was almost PEGGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I quicked pulled in and shut the motor off, and popped the hood. We parked right next to a bunch of great guys who had STi's that were basically used for Lime Rock Park and other courses. I quickly called them over to help me figure out was wrong. I noticed some dried coolant on the driver's side, near the coolant container. I also noticed it was empty, so I filled it up with water that I had, started the car, and the temps still were high, but not as much. I refilled that container again, and started the car but it didn't suck the container empty like last time. Hmmm maybe a leak somewhere? So we let the car run a bit, and then shut it off to check for a leak. 5 mins later, we all saw the upper radiator hose collapse and suck the container EMPTY! It was like the car was freaking alive! One of the guys was like yup...theres your problem...you have a huge AIR POCKET in your system. ANSWER: Fill up the smaller radiator container on the passenger side (older STi's have a metal one ('04s/early '05s) and later '05/'06/'07 have a plastic one), and then massage (pump) the upper radiator hose slowly to push the air out, you will see the air bubbles shoot out that smaller radiator container on the passenger side. Do this multiple times to bleed out the system and there you have it...a car that won't overheat anymore! I ran the car during the 4th session to test the cooling system to see if it would over heat and it didn't! Then, about halfway into the 4th session, I noticed I was running low on Meth, so I decided to call it a day and be happy that I had such a great time at Lime Rock Park, and my car was in one piece!

Hey Chris, have you looked at your brake pads? I really wanted to take your car out in instructor group. I just got too busy running around. The instructing was theraputic anyway. I got to thrash on a mini S during my last session. (sorry in advance mini drivers ) It was fun to be in the slowest car on the track for once. It could corner pretty fast though. I could brake at the 1.5 mark for big bend which impressed my till I found the speedometer. Driving Jakes car was great. He called me his "driving mom and dad" when I told him I could feel my style in his driving. You forum guys rule and are a load of fun and support(I have not met any forum girls yet, c'mon get out to Lime Rock and have a blast w/your car!). Thanks for offering to help me Chris, I am going to get estimated tomorrow.

Yah, I actually was thinking, I wasn't pushing the brakes hard like you did when I went for a spin in your beast. I believe if I did, I could def get some faster laps. I def want to get the DBA Slotted 4000's with a fresh set of Ferodo 2500's. I only have the front pads, as the rears are still stock. That with some R-Compounds and alignment, and it should def be some good times! I was thinking 245's R-Compounds or something as good as those, mounted on my Worx rims 17's. I promise I will have that ready for next years, but I will try and sneak another day or two in for this year.

Well thanks to Chris for all his hard work and many phone calls, I ordered up the Ings+1 Hybrid Aero Front Bumper and Side Skirts. They should be coming to my house within 8 week......hopefully. Then, in the meantime I will be getting other parts that I will piece together for an awseome front end!

For the upcoming weeks, its just saving, paying the credit cards off almost completely, and then ordering the rest of the parts for the turbo upgrade. Parts add up sooooo fast, its crazy how much it costs in the end! Other than that, I plan on getting some of those professionaly pics framed for the office and home!!!!!
