I was wondering what the deal was with the tape also.

I agree w/you that the rear skirts look sexy, I really like how they make exhausts like ours look tucked away. I had similar rear skirts on my accord and when I saw other accords with aftermarket exhaust w/o the skirts I thought it looked plain weird.
