Cool Urban's STi *V-Limited destroyed - Prodrive Springs installed - Car detailed*

Urban's STi

Intro

Well i figure its about time i made a member's journal of my STi. I got her in June of 2005 as a gift from my father for my 19th Birthday at Manfredy Subaru Auto Mall on Staten Island. Of corse he bought the car but i am currently paying it off every summer by working at my fathers shop. Since being at college for the whole week and coming home on the weekends, i havent been able to put that many miles on it. Since getting the STi in June with 147 miles on it, im now (jan 2006) up to almost 2000 miles exactly. Why dont I drive it to college you might say? Manhattan streets + Crazy people + Bad Drivers + My STi = Death. I want to keep my STi in almost perfect condition for as long as i can and bringing it to the city isnt the best idea lol. Parts Ordered On the Way

News

4/10/08
Wow long time, no update. Um lets see. I got retuned 3 times since last update. (sean ivey, then precision and then precision again), new exhaust, new front pads, bought some ADVAN RCIII rims, went to Japan and picked up a shift knob, Got a methkit + guage and wideband guage installed, bought tires for the stock rims, ran at the track, got pulled over about 10 times, and some other stuff i cant remember. Ill post pics and **** later lol

7/16/07 V-Limited Replaced - Fast Times ECU Flash - Kartboy Hangers - AP DP
- read the title

6/1/07 Ordered new V-limited lip

-yes its true, i dropped another $500 on a new v-limited lip. But this time around, im going to have the inside of the lip sprayed with "rhino lining" to increase the durability of the lip. Should arrive here on monday.

4/15/07 Big Update

- Lets see. Alot of things have happened in the last month. The first of which is that i broke my beloved V-Limited in half. How did i do this you say? Ill tell you. It was about the end of last month, it decided to snow out of nowhere so naturally, I jacked my car up and put my winters on and went drifting. I was looking for a good parking lot to have some fun in and i saw hylan plaza nice and empty. Now in hylan plaza, theres a pizza hut that has parking on all 4 sides of the place. So what did i do? I decided that i could drift around pizza hut and... i did lol. I went around a few times with 1 continuous drift. But on the last time around, i swung wide and hit a ice boulder the size of a basket ball which, broke it right in half....Im pretty upset about the whole deal because i payed $500 for it and i smashed it in half. But the way i see it is, you gotta pay to play. **** happens you know. But i do plan to order another one this summer once i start working again.

On a better note, my prodrive springs came in and had SSC install them for me. Im pretty happy with the IMO. The drop is nice (even though it could go a lil lower in the front), the feel of the springs feels like stock springs in terms of how they respond, but much stiffer. I took my STi around todt hill on SI to see how they were turns. After that, one word came to mind....swaybars...lol the understeer is really bad now but i plan to buy some whiteline adjustibles in the future. Heres just one pic of many of the springs install:

And last but not least is, I got my car detailed. I had my friend John (2stepsAhead) do all the work (me paying him of corse). After 6 hours of work, here are the results:

Before

After

He did a f*cking good job on it =)

3/14/07 Ran at the track

- Ran at the track last weekend for my first time and i have to say for a stage 2 set up, i was very pleased.
My fastest time in the 1/4 was 12.905
Fastest 60' was 1.73 (lots of wheel hop)
Fastest reaction time was .023
Highest mph was 105

I would say i did pretty well for my first time at the track. There should be a video up pretty soon of my runs, ill post here when i get them.

3/7/07 Prodrive springs on the way

- Ordered some prodrive springs on monday and should be coming in next monday. Then hopefully get them installed the following weekend intime for spring break. Will also take pictures of the install and ride hight comparisons because i had trouble myself finding good pics of prodrives on a 05 STi and i want people to see how it is .

2/20/07 Kartboy/Gaskets/UTEC map selector/ UTEC 2step launch control Install - Windshield broken

Got all of the above installed the other day. The kartboy shortshifter/bushings feels great and the exhaust leak was fixed. But the best part of this install was the UTEC's 2step. Check the video...It says it all

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HmHEkVnLM4w"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HmHEkVnLM4w" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

On a negative note, Some asshole bashed my windshield with a frozen Dr. Pepper bottle. I got it fixed the next day for $250 but it still was a pain in the ass to find someone who could install it quickly. Check the pic:

1/20/07 Ordered Kartboy/Gaskets

Ordered a STi kartboy short throw shifter and some exhaust gaskets today. I ordered the new short throw because i felt it in my friends wrx and it was exactly what i was looking for ever since i bought the car. As for the Gaskets, Hopefully it will fix my exhaust leak that ive had for the last 3 weeks.

12/3/06 Painted Pod

This is the only pic i have of the painted Defi Pod......and yes i was surrounded by the evil empire...

11/23/06 Walbro-PE 850's
Ordered the Walbro 255 at rally sport direct and picked up the injectors at SSC. Also got the gauge pod painted and will have pics of that soon

nice, CLEAN, sharp, and oem looking ride. all characteristics i prefer in the sti.

it looks lkke the v-lim logo has the blue protective film on it still (or is it reflecting the blue bumper cover paint?).... take a close-up to settle the debate!!lol

anyway, how's about some profile/3/4view shots?? id like to see the effect of the vlim with the oem rideheight (thoughts running thru my bean)

I have some other pics too that ill post up. These pics are slightly old but it basically looks the same (now have the ASA JH3's and Wintersport M3's). In these pics, the blue film is on. Now, the film is off.
